Please describe your company and your position there.

Demium is the most active VC in South Europe, with its talent incubator and accelerator. Demium manages a 52M EUR fund, investing in up to 80 companies per year, from pre-seed to series A, across 8 hubs in Europe. I am the Director of Programmes, responsible for developing the curriculum and initiatives to be developed across the program and keeping monitoring and adjusting our deal. I'm also responsible for both the internal and external IT infrastructure.

For what projects/services did your company hire Tech Makers, and what were your goals?

We are not a technical company and therefore we do not have a CTO. I'm responsible for our platforms and I'm a Bubble.io developer, but I lacked both the time and experience to push it to its fullest. We met and started to work with Tech Makers to help us moving forward, both with Bubble development but also integration with other apps, such as APIs to another platform in Django (both ways syncronization) and integration with google services (Google drive and Google groups).

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Tech Makers has all the skills of a Software Engineer, with deep knowledge of no-code tools, which allows us to benefit from both worlds. He also has great soft skills and speaks English and Portuguese.

We have worked module by module, in sprints of 2-3 weeks. We start by drawing each module, including all the screens, functionalities, automations and database structure. Tech makers is responsible for all the development and we meet 1-2x per week to review the progress and solve any doubts. Demium is responsible for testing and identfying bugs, which Tech Makers solve in a fast manner.

We have work mainly in Bubble.io, even though Tech Makers developed customized APIs and integrations with external services, such as a syncronization with a Django database and API connection with Google Groups and Google Drive.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

During the last 5 months we've developed several modules and integrations, summing over 650h of work. All the technical objectives were achieved and we'll keep working with Tech Makers.

We define together all the requirements in Miro. These include screens, functionalities and database structure. Tech Makers does all the development and we usually sync 1-2x per week, through a 30min Google Meet meeting. Bugs are reported by email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Tech Makers is very professional and brings many things beyond technical knowledge. It is easy to communicate from a business perspective, which makes all the development easier and more accurate. Tech Makers also have great UX/UI skills, proposing and implementing small functionalities which make the usability a better experience. Finally, Tech Makers is very responsible and we rely on them for testing and putting recent developments in the live environment.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

All the work developed during the past 5 months was great. Thank you.

We needed someone to help custom-develop our web app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tech Makers helped put together a web app or plugin for our website. They modified the template through Bubble and essentially built it from the ground up. The final product was a questionnaire that could provide real-time estimates of costs and construction.

Apart from that, they were able to teach me how to transfer the app to our platform, so I’m able to do it on my own.

I mainly worked with one programmer.

Tech Makers was able to deliver a fully-functioning app and get it up and running right away.

They performed well from a project management perspective and seamlessly resolve all of our technical issues.

We typically communicated through Zoom.

We were impressed with their smart development approach, ability to understand our issues, and contribution to the design process.

I can’t think of anything because our partnership went smoothly.
