I’m one of the founders and head of development of Chairsight, and we provide services to dental offices in Germany.

We hired Solid Solutions, LLC to develop an app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Solid Solutions, LLC is using Laravel as the app’s framework. The app is for dental treatment planning in Germany, where dentists can see the costs of their treatment in real-time, which will depend on their choices. We’re continuing to improve the app.

What is the team composition?

We’re working with their project manager, developer, and owner. We sometimes talk to their owner to talk about the project’s milestones.

How did you come to work with Solid Solutions, LLC?

We found them on Upwork.

We’ve spent $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing collaboration began in September 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

So far, everything’s great. We’ve been doing weekly tests in dental offices to get more feedback from dentists.

How did Solid Solutions, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a good process. We have weekly calls with their team to discuss the milestones and to see what’s working, including the app’s usability. Despite the problems in Ukraine, the team’s work continues to be unaffected. We use Jira, Upwork, Google Meet, and email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very fast and focused on the product owner’s needs. On top of that, they make things happen, and they understand our needs and care a lot about the app’s small features. Overall, we’re very happy with Solid Solutions, LLC.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing that comes to my mind right now on areas they can improve. Though they changed the developer in the middle of the project and it was difficult at first, things are great now.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a good mock-up of your ideas and be as clear as possible with your needs.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We hired Solid Solutions in November 2022 to complete a chat application. They reviewed the existing project and began working on the tasks. The developer working on the project left the agency and Solid Solutions didn't inform us. Instead they gave us excuses as why they couldn't work on our project at the time and promised future completion dates, but then those dates passed while no progress was being made on our project. 

They hired a new project manager who apologized for the way our project was handled. He said the code that was written was no good, and they would have to spend months fixing it. I already had paid for the developer to write this code. The PM suggested using API as a quicker solution for the phone/video and after researching options, we agreed to a solution. 

Solid Solution agreed to fix the outstanding issues that were not completed by the initial developer and do the API. In January, we agreed to a list which needed to be completed and which tasks would be completed on a future contract. We also asked the PM about concerns about the limitations with the API. We asked to get the specifics about the API they were using, so we could research some solutions. 

Solid Solution ghosted us. They didn't respond to any of our team's messages. They removed the work I paid for and refused to respond to our concerns. The CEO told her project manager not to respond to us. This is not a company I would recommend in Ukraine. I have worked with developers in Ukraine for over 15 years and suggest you choose another agency. Solid Solutions, LLC wasted our company’s time with false promises.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were left with a non-working chat application.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

As I described previously, they failed to meet deadlines promised. When we asked for specifics about the API, they did not respond at all to requests.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The new project manager admitted the errors Solid Solution had with the development with our project. He came up with a solution which I agreed to. Unfortunately, the CEO would not let the PM complete the job and promises he made.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Solid Solutions, LLC could have done differently?

Communication needs to be improved. The developers need to test their work.

First call with head of company was very friendly. After first working month with the IT-Team the further work was good decision.
