 I am the SDE-I of a consumer products & services company

We're a live consumer-facing digital platform — available on Android, iOS, and web. Real users, real usage. I oversee the product direction and work with SynthWeb as our core technical partner.

• Keeping a live consumer app healthy after launch. Most agencies aren't set up for ongoing maintenance on production apps. We needed a team that could handle performance issues, ship feature updates, manage app store releases, and respond fast when something broke. That's a different kind of engagement from a one-time build.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A consistent technical lead on my side with specialists behind them for mobile, backend, and design. The team stayed stable across the engagement — that matters a lot on a long-running live product.

Strong on responsiveness. If something broke, they were on it fast. Where I'd push them to improve: proactive timeline communication on planned feature releases. A few rollouts took longer than expected without much forewarning. Fixable with a simple sprint update rhythm.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They understood the stakes of working on a live product. A bad release can crater your app store ratings overnight. SynthWeb were careful where it mattered and moved fast where it didn't. That instinct is hard to teach.

Proactive release timeline communication. A shared release calendar or brief weekly update would close that gap completely.

Full build from scratch. Requirements, architecture, frontend, backend everything. I came in with the product vision and they figured out how to execute it. I wasn’t writing tickets for every small decision and I didn’t need to. That level of autonomy was important to me and they handled it well without things going sideways.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The product is live and it does what it’s supposed to do. Users can run a security check, get results that actually mean something, and understand their exposure without needing to Google anything. No major issues post-launch. That was the deliverable and it got delivered properly.

Generally good. Responsive, always available when I needed them, never went dark on me at any point. The one honest note is that I had to ask for status updates sometimes rather than receiving them on a regular schedule. It wasn’t a trust issue whenever I reached out they had a clear answer but a simple weekly check-in would have made the process feel tighter. Small thing with an easy fix.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Honestly, they're based in Guwahati and the quality is genuinely competitive with teams from bigger cities. I’ve worked with agencies from metros before and SynthWeb matches that standard. They understood the product concept, they didn’t need hand-holding through every decision, and the final output reflected that.

Are there any areas for improvement or something SynthWeb could have done differently?

Proactive updates on timelines. The work itself was good, that's not the issue. It’s just that I’d rather be told where things stand than have to ask. A structured weekly update, even just a short message, would go a long way.
