I just started my clothing brand.

What challenge were you trying to address with SuperCo?
I needed someone to do my website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
SuperCo worked on design and development. They did the website from scratch through Shopify and held my hand along the way. The team did the basics, graphics, and usual setup. After we went live, they were accommodating and offered me their support.
They initially created a mood board and put tons of ideas I was interested in using for the website. Then, they put it all together and started with website design. SuperCo gave me graphics, fonts, and all the imagery options. They ordered everything as I wanted, and then they added things that were out of my reach if I were to do them on my own.
What is the team composition?
We worked with about four people. I initially spoke to Tom (Co-Founder); we did the logistics together. After that, we worked with someone on the design elements. From there, Pablo (Product & Operations Manager) took care of everything. Once the design was done, he helped with more things — he was the one I contacted if I had any issues.
How did you come to work with SuperCo?
It was through a mutual friend. He worked with Tom and had great feedback about SuperCo. Since I was looking for a website developer and designer, he put me in touch with Tom. We had a Zoom call and went over everything.
How much have you invested with them?
I spent $2,500.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from October–November 2021. However, I keep in touch with them. They’re more than happy to help if I need to make changes, so I’ll definitely engage them when I need updates.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It’s significantly impacted my business because I wouldn’t have been able to build a website without their help. However, they were also quick and efficient. I’d been told that this kind of work takes a long time, but they did everything in the timeframe I wanted. Overall, they got the job done and were approachable.

They performed very well. I could email them without problem, and they’d get back to me quickly.

For what projects/services did your company hire SuperCo, and what were your goals?
We had an idea for research innovation in testing products on masse but in a contextually appropriate way. We wanted to build a custom e-commerce platform that connects with our panel to allow us to track their individual journeys through the store and then follow up with conditional-based logic question based on their purchase decisions.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
This is a pretty new-to-world research solution and therefore required a team with some vision and strong technical knowledge to help realise it. Having met with a handful of agencies and teams with differing backgrounds, we decided that SuperCo seemed a great fit for what we're after - an agency to partner with who understood the scope, and interrogated the brief and component parts required.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We needed a platform built on Shopify, but customised to reappropriate and remove some of the core features of the platform (ie. no payment gateways and user checkouts). The platform needed to work in multiple languages simultaneously, displaying different products per market, and different storefront variations so we could split test adverts and product priming. We also crucially needed to track each individual journey through the site, so the team also built a private shopify app, utilising webhooks and an AWS database to store all page interactions. Following the kick off call, the team built wireframes and user journey flows, then built and tested the private app, before moving onto the various iterations of the storefront. There was a timeline of 6 weeks to build and deliver this, from kick-off to the first go-live date.

We worked with 5-6 of the SuperCo team, with the lead developer Tom being our main point of contact.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
As this is a new-to-world research platform and methodology we don't yet have measurable outcomes, however it's a platform that the team have worked incredibly hard on, works fantastically, and we're really excited about the future possibilities that it will unlock for our agencies clients.

We had regular catch-ups along the way, with almost daily zoom calls, emails and whatsapp messages as we were approaching the launch and refining the functionality and store products
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Clearly very experienced with Shopify. More than anything, it's been the agility and enthusiasm of SuperCo that has been impressive. It's never easy taking on an "in to the fog" type project, but Tom and the team have shown extraordinary energy and willingness to pivot when challenges have arisen along the way (and there have been a few!)
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing to note really, the communication style is informal but that personally suits me, and really helps us work as a wider project team and as agency partners right off the bat.

Our main point of contact where kicking off the project was Tom, co-founder. Once the project was underway we spoke to Emil who was the one working on the development. We felt at all times that we could get a quick and detailed response.

From our side, the project was delivered on time and in budget. This could have been a bad outcome for us as a previous agency had failed us before. Tom and his team were quick to jump on the project and save us from having an unhappy client with a site that didn't work. The outcome for the client is that she's seen a a large increase subscribes and engagement. More than she was expecting. The general feedback from her customers is very positive.

Efficient, personal and professional. We started most of our comms using email. SuperCo use the online portal where you can see open jobs, billings and project history. Very easy to navigate.

SuperCo were impressive from the start. Their in-depth Shopify knowledge was very reassuring. The efficiency of which they picked up the pieces and solved the issues caused from the last agency was incredible.

We are pretty green in this space so we needed a trustworthy source who could walk us through some of the more intricate parts of our product. We were also moving to the Shopify platform and we had no experience with Shopify. They made the transition manageable.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We've seen a great response to the new website and the ordering experience is slick. We saw a slight drop in Google Rankings when switching over which was slightly disappointing but are working to bring things back up to the levels seen before the switch.

Excellent all round on this front. Couldn't fault it.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were quick, responsive, and very professional. And from a design and build point of view, I couldn't fault them.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
It would have been great for us to understand the impact on rankings as most of our customers won't look past page one on google when searching for Rose wine.

They set up a call with us to run through each task and make sure they had understood everything clearly. After, they came back to us with a quote for each task.
We reviewed and communicated which tasks we wanted to focus on.
They kept us updated via email on the status of each task and asked any follow-up questions as they were moving along.
At the end of the project, they shared a clear breakdown of the time effectively needed to complete each task and explained any discrepancy vs the original quote before charging us.

Sometimes, they are unable to provide a quote because the task requires scoping. While I understand that it isn't always possible to give an exact quote, it would be great to always be given a more clear idea of how long something will take to be scoped out / completed.

Clarified the structure and costs of Shopify and Amazon Webservices earlier on in our discussions so they could be built into the financial plan.
