I am the founder and solo proprietor of a qigong and tai chi wellness business.

I built my website myself not knowing what I was doing. It had become cumbersome for me to maintain and was not user friendly for my clients. I hired Sugar Free Designs after interviewing numerous web designers to rebuilt the site to drive more online sales, be more user friendly and easier for me to maintain myself.

I settled on SugarFreeDesigns because of their timely and professional communications, the quality of their portfolio and their value-based pricing terms. They were not the cheapest bid for the project but felt like the right fit.

After an initial zoom consult, Sugar Free Designs sent me a proposal which we then reviewed in another meeting. SFD sent a contract with all the details of our project, I signed, paid the initial invoice and work began. I was continually in the loop of what was going on in the project and communications between team members was easy. I had to approve each step of the project before it moved forward. The team encountered issues with new Wix designs that changed how it was completed which set the project schedule back only a little bit.

Along the way, I had several Zoom meetings with the SFD team to make sure we were all on the same page. They were fantastic at explaining how everything worked and making me comfortable in a tech world I know little about. Once the wireframe was complete another payment was made. After design was complete and I approved the entire project, the final invoice was paid and the new website went live. The SFD team effectively coached me through the entire process and helped edit my mistakes.

I worked directly with Cody throughout the project and also consulted with the initial wireframe developer Lyric.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within the first week of launching the new website, online sales increased and my client feedback was very positive regarding the new website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was easy with 24/7 access to the project through the Slack app. Deadlines were updated as the project progressed. Zoom meetings and communication through Slack was easy and effective.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was super happy with the patience and professionalism they displayed when answering my repeated questions. Cody was willing to re-phrase and re-answer the same questions when I was confused and sent me links to video tutorials on some of the specific processes so I would better understand. He offered valuable business advice that I will continue to implement that went beyond web design.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing about how SugarFreeDesigns manages their projects. I was most happy with every part of the process.

I am the owner and Executive Director of Spirit of Hope, Inc. in Carson City Nevada. We run supported living group homes. We offer housing for the homeless for the entire northern part of Nevada.

We searched online for a website builder and then reached out to Wix.com which is the platform for our website. They recommended SugarFree Designs to us as well as some others. After speaking to some other companies, we settled on SugarFree Designs. Their company stood out most to us simply because of their customer service and professionalism.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. From there the team delivered a mockup and wireframe for our site. We made adjustments after a few discussions. The team designed an informal site. They updated the content using some of our old site's information to reflect our company's services and created a landing page with contact form and a blog.

Immediately we saw a 25% increase in the number of views!

We used Slack to communicate weekly. We used Zoom to communicate each month.

They gave us a professional site that was easy to update. They also offered more help in the management of our site if we needed it. We have never used the Editor X site before, and they took the time to teach us how to use and update the site on our own.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

So far, we have no complaints or issues with our site. We have a small page and that makes everything a lot easier.

I previously hired another company for this project...They were extremely unresponsive and argued every item I wanted included in my website...I think all they wanted for me was a cookie cutter site that they could do with ease....SugarFree Designs first assed my desires in a website, what my goals were, and how we would use this website as a company.

Based on my input, they were able to offer a few suggestions above and beyond what we were thinking. It was great seeing the website progress along the way, and as changes were made, or steps progressed they never balked at new additional ideas from along the way.

I primarily worked with the owner of SugarFree Designs, Cody Stevens. I know he had people operating behind the scenes, but I think because of my previous frustration, Cody took this project under his wing to ensure our satisfaction.

I have already had another Real Estate friend ask me about the website because my site does not look or feel like the 90% of cookie cutter sites out there. I have already noticed a difference when speaking to prospective clients, referring them to my website seems to be adding a lot of credibility/

Cody constantly stayed in touch...but more importantly I would regularly receive progress reports outlining any changes or work he completed as well as the next phase of his plan of action, and anything he needed from me whether it was desired content, or other information he would need to complete the next step/

The quality is terrific...I get excited every time I go online and check out the site...I think it reflects very well on the company we are trying to buld.

After a competitive bidding process, SugarFree Designs was selected based on it's professionalism, knowledge of digital space, quick and insightful responses. Although a new relationship, the Team felt SugarFree Design would be a competent and reliable resource.

While it's our firm and budget...we were looking for a firm that could "partner" with us in delivering an updated website...and, as our service provider deliver insightful povs, and be more than order takers.

Documented follow-ups re next steps and timing. Tools used enabled our Team to regulary go online and look at our sight "in it's developmental stages" and to share feedback. Periodic conference calls (by phone and Zoom) to ensure alignment re status and next steps.

Knowledge of the digital space. SLAs---very fast turnaround. Courteous, Agile, Flexible and Professional (yet easy to work with) at all times.

We are a leading innovator in the nutraceutical industry for over 30 years. MBi develops, manufactures, and sells medical supplements directly to patients and doctors. I operate the colloidal silver division for MBi Nutraceuticals in the retail sector.

We only had a landing page and had no way to sell to our consumers. We hired SugarFree Designs to create a website, a place for a blog, a e-commerce store, a place for our consumers to learn about our products and services, contact us, built our amazon retail store.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to increase our direct to consumer sales, increase our outreach and engagement and build more brand awareness.

How did you select SugarFree Designs?

I was referred to SugarFree Designs by a local company in Arizona that used their services previously

Describe the project in detail.

After accepting the quote we provided SFD with websites we liked the design of, our competitors, and other related items. From there, they developed a basic wireframe that showed us what the site was going to look like. After we provided feedback they made changes and we eventually approved the wireframe.

Once approved they started adding more detail to the wireframe and functions that made it look more like an actual website. After providing another round of feedback, they made their final changes before we officially approved the design. This process also included us providing various paragraphs of text and information so sections could be filled out.

SugarFree Designs would take that information, optimize it if needed and then add it to the design. After the design was approved they started creating the actual website. This process was fairly quick. After the website was created, we had a round of testing to verify everything worked correctly.

Once that stage was completed, the design was done and we were given full access to the website. While the website was being created, they were also assisting with setting up our Amazon Seller profile. They assisted with getting our products on Amazon and configuring the product pages.

After the website was completed, they worked on SEO optimization, making sure all our of pages were on google and we had access to analytics, and other data. After the main project was completed, we used them to make various customizations to the site and assistance with marketing emails, and customer engagement.

What was the team composition?

Cody Stevens the owner of SugarFree Designs was our main point of contact for the project. Cody had other developers assisting him but he was the only person we spoke to.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We went from pretty much 0 engagement to our customers viewing our blog, contacting us via chat to ask us questions and being able to share pages full of information to answer certain questions. Our SEO was greatly improved going from almost never being shown to rich search results and being displayed more often.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication could have been better on our side. Cody was very responsive and we had direct access to his phone number to be able to text and call. Sometimes it would take us longer than we wanted to provide certain information for their team to use. They were very open with scheduling meetings and calls to discuss things related to our project and goals.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

How honest they were. If we wanted to do something, we were never told no but we were told why what we want to do may not be the best way to go about something or what the best way to do it was while accommodating what we wanted to do.

They were very knowledgeable about the platform we used and incredibly quick to respond to our questions. We still send him questions about things and he has no hesitation in helping us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As I said before, communication and providing information could have been better on our side. SugarFree Designs couldn't have been easier to work with.
