Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a Leipzig based music producer. Under the alias "Golden Plate", I'm releasing electronic music that alternates between house, techno and ambient.

For what projects/services did your company hire studio fjeld, and what were your goals?

I hired studio Fjeld to develope a visual identity and to find a new name that suits my music. They had to execute a logo/identity as well a album cover once we decided on the name.

How did you select this vendor?

I had worked on another project with Studio Fjeld several years ago and I enjoyed the process of working with them.

They did a research/analyse of the competitive set in the music industry and described the different types of naming structures and interviewed key stakeholders in order to get a sense of this kind of music. Then they delivered two rounds of names - we selected several to 'clear' and went through a short process to determine which name would be most appropriate.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I worked directly with Katrin (graphic Design) and Valentin (art direction).

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They were able to successfully design and achieve a visual identity on budget and on time. We selected a new name. Lastly, they finished an album cover artwork with a small booklet. I got a lot of positive feedback on the new visual identity.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

I had weekly chats to check in with Katrin and Valentin about the project as often as needed. I never had any scheduling challenges on their end - and everything was easy and methodical and worked at the proper pace for me. If anything, they were very patient with me and my feedback.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I liked their style and their conceptual thinking. They kept it light but also brought gravitas and deep expertise to naming - which really is such a specialized process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, there’s nothing they can change.

We needed help with the design of our website.

studio fjeld has been doing the entirety of my website’s design where I can post my personal and commissioned work, and they’ve been able to combine these two fields into the platform’s design. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve been working with two members of their team.

How did you come to work with studio fjeld?

I saw some of their previous photographic work for gallery spaces, and I decided to reach out to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around €6,000 (approximately $6,800 USD) with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve received a lot of feedback from users saying that the site has a great design and that they appreciate the ability to switch between my personal and commissioned work — it’s been an overall good first impression.

How did studio fjeld perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had great communication; they come up with ideas, and we collaborate to choose the best one for the project. 

What did you find most impressive about them? 

I can easily reach out to them whenever I have questions. Additionally, they’re an innovative and friendly team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

Have a clear idea of what you want for the site’s design to help them solve your issues.

I am the founder of a small company which is focusing on healthy nutrition, yoga and hiking retreats.

We hired studio fjeld for:

• the development of a new branding which included a logo design
• web design and development
• production of social media content
• print products like business cards, flyers, brochures

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

A colleague of mine previously worked with Studio Fjeld and was very pleased with their precise clean quick work. After I was introduced to them, I conducted an interview and they showed me their portfolio. I was convinced by what I saw, so I selected them to brand my new company.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Studio Fjeld developed a whole new branding from scratch. They really took the time to get to know who we are and what we were looking to do. The communication was pretty collaborative. They would share ideas, mockups, and mood boards, and then we would give our comments. Based on our feedback they designed our new logo and branding. Then, they applied those designs to the website, our social media channel, to our business cards and other print products.

In total, we worked with 2 people, including the project manager and the graphic designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Studio Fjeld developed an overall brand visualization that works really well for us and has been noticed by all of our clients. The new website has received positive reviews that highlight it's clean and fresh design. Since launching the site traffic has increased by 80%.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We highly value personal dialogue in a business relationship, so communication was especially important. We mainly communicated via phone call or with the occasional email as necessary. For meetings we met via Zoom or in person. Their management style is fantastic. They are clear with their estimates, accurately determining projects’ schedules and budgets. The team quickly grasps my ideas and expertly translates them into high-quality deliverables that align with my requirements and expectations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very intuitive and thoughtful in their work.They really took the time to get to know who we are and what we were looking to do. They came up with a lot of new ideas and had plenty of passion for their work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, everything went great and we are really happy with the outcome.
