I was the chief of staff for a consulting company called Humor, Seriously. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Silicon Valley Insight?

We needed someone to provide us with custom software development and create a quiz software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Silicon Valley Insights is helping us build and develop a custom quiz software, with a complex backend and detailed scoring system. The results will then be calculated using mathematics and will be sent to the user in PDF format.

They use Heroku, GitHub, Sentry, and Google Data Studio as their main development tools, and they're currently providing the company with maintenance and support.

What is the team composition?

We initially interacted with the founders but once the development started, we’ve mainly been in contact with the product manager and three engineers.

How did you come to work with Silicon Valley Insight?

The co-founder of Silicon Valley Insight was a friend of mine from college, but he was also one of the students of the author from our company.

What is the status of this engagement?

The ongoing engagement started in August 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since partnering with Silicon Valley Insight, we’ve garnered over 40,000 responses for our quiz. A lot of those respondents have actually subscribed to the company's newsletter where they’re sent product advertisements and promotional emails.

How did Silicon Valley Insight perform from a project management standpoint?

We typically communicate via email, but we also do weekly check-ins through Zoom or Google Hangouts.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re very impressed with how they’re able to proactively listen to our concerns and requirements, and deliver the exact product that we need. They’ve exceeded our expectations from our initial project brief.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could improve on because they’re quick to remedy any issue whenever they arise.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise having a good vision of what you want to be built but if you don’t have one, Silicon Valley Insight can help you acquire the specifics of your project with their high level of understanding.

Be more upfront with your expectations so they can deliver the product you want.
