I’m a co-CEO for a special-purpose acquisition company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Rubicon?

We needed to create a website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rubicon has designed and developed our website from scratch. Initially, we provided them with descriptions of our business and proprietary images for the website, including photos and logos. We also told them the aspects of our business we needed the website to cover. 

Rubicon has used WordPress to build the website and GoDaddy for hosting. Currently, they continually update the website as needed. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with three teammates from Rubicon: Diego (CEO), Juan (VP of Operations), and a developer. 

How did you come to work with Rubicon?

I went to a company with an excellent and complex website and asked for a reference. This company pointed me toward Rubicon. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Rubicon created a top-notch website, especially compared to our competitors; we have one of the nicest websites in the industry. Users have noticed the site’s high quality, so we’ve gotten positive feedback. Since the site isn’t meant to generate revenue, we don’t have any quantitative metrics to measure the website’s success.

How did Rubicon perform from a project management standpoint?

They deliver everything on time and budget and are very responsive. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Diego does an excellent job leading the team. Juan and the developer have also done a great job implementing the website. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rubicon has done everything we’ve asked of them. They’re very easy to work with and highly responsive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any areas of improvement for them; we’re very satisfied with their work. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

There isn’t anything special you need to do or any tricks of the trade to have a successful partnership with Rubicon because they’re very user-friendly.

Resourcing: Rubicon was responsible for helping identify a resource that would augment our staff for a period of time.

• Provide candidates based on the job description provided.
• Set-up interviews for candidates that we felt met our needs.
• Once resource was selected, provided a background check.

Development:

• Resource was integrated into our staff by attending daily stand-up's, project meetings.
• Develop projects across limited clients (as needed), taking direction from senior Development team members.
• Unit testing projects to ensure they adhere to project requirements and complete the Project Development Checklist prior to launch.
• Lead internal stage reviews of project builds and address all bugs/tickets found during the QA process in a timely manner

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since this was a staff augmentation vs a defined project our progress/success metric might be different than others. With that being said, the key metric is availability, effective communication, and completing development tasks successfully across multiple projects.

They had a key escalation contact and a resource discussion meeting bi-monthly to discuss how the resource was doing with their project day-to-day deliverability. Everything was delivered on time with quick responses.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to find an appropriate resource in a short amount of time was impressive and also allowed us to be part of the vetting process to ensure a culture fit.

No, I think they delivered to meet our expectations.
