Flic is a boutique hardware development firm from Stockholm, Sweden. We are working on making applications radically accessible and easier to use by creating physical objects out of their interactions. At Flic, I am acting as an Operations Manager.

As a compact hardware development firm, it does not make sense to employ a full-time Web Developer. However, making changes to our website is crucial, as that is our main contact with our first-time customers. Therefore, we were looking for a reliable partner with who we can build up a long-term relationship to develop our website tailored to the changing circumstances of our business.

Here at Flic, we are seeking the balance of quality, fairness, and efficiency. The discussion with Roud felt natural from the beginning and we found all of these values in them. These were the main reasons why we cast our vote for them. We thought that we will run into an obstacle because it went so smoothly. But in the end, they delivered according to our expectations.

There were two major web pages on our website that Roud helped us with, the About Us section and the Business Solutions. The Business Solutions subpage included further subpages. As for the workflow, firstly, we provided the draft design, Roud conducted a design review and after a short iteration, they developed the pages. The usage of both platforms went smoothly from both sides. Furthermore, Roud also helped us to enable the Shopify Multi-Currency feature on our web store. Our website is mainly based on WordPress which encompasses the Shopify webshop. But during the development, Roud was also using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

In total, we were in contact with two members of the Roud team. Alex as a Developer who was responsible for providing us with the technical support and Alex as a Project Manager, who was heading the design reviews, moved forward with the process, arranged the administrative issues, and provided a link between us.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Internally we are rather satisfied with the precision with, which our requests were implemented. It is too early to tell the success of our Business Solutions page. However, we have received some promising leads after launching the site, which might as well be the result of the work of Roud.

The work with Roud was one of the most seamless, and we have experienced with external partners. The communication was going through Slack and the design changes were discussed through Figma without a bump. They delivered based on their initial estimates in a timely manner according to expectations.

Simple, but rare these days. They delivered what we wanted.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We would love to give some constructive feedback, but we did not have any concerns so far related to their work.

I was the lead web developer in a company from Texas. My client specified in consulting about the US market in Texas, that was an investment company with enterprise direct clients. So his service needs a website because before that they have no web pages for presenting their business online

The website was created from scratch. That was a road from prototype and project specification development to design and web development (JS, PHP). It was a WordPress website with provided a good editing experience for managing all content. We compared together different solutions like Webflow, WordPress, and other CMS. And we finally chose WordPress

I chose a developer team that I know, it was a shortlist from 5 dev teams and some freelancer individuals. I compared prices, the due date of the project, and performer availability. RoudStudio provides a medium budget with faster deadlines. So I decided to work with them

First of all, we scheduled a meeting to discuss the project specification from client needs. After building such specifications, they made a good design that my client approved and after that, it was the usual web development process. RoudStudio has a specialist in HTML markup, so they provided a good quality mockup in HTML + CSS with JS features on the webpage. Animations, CSS3 implementation in code, and other stuff

After that, they built for us a WordPress website from this HTML mockup with all needed experience - header and footer management, integration of contact forms with different services, Cadenly integration, etc So that was full-stack website development from scratch

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It was a website for a company which does not exist online before. We connect to Google Analytics, our website started to show on Google and presented the company in a good manner. So company owner started to collect data from his clients online with modern marketing tools and he used Calendly for scheduling meetings with new potential clients. It was good automation of all business processes in the consulting

We communicated on Skype and Slack. Project management styling in our case - usual Waterfall management with concrete deadlines

Their friendly conversations and good-quality website designs were remarkable. The way they showed attention to the client and potential user needs are most impressive in RoudStudio.

Can't tell, we have not too complicated a project here. Our project was just a corporate website with small integrations. It was done perfectly

The workflow between both teams was great. The team worked with Figma. We tasked different pages in batches to the team and they sent them back to us. We were also able to collaborate using Figma for small updates later on.

We were pleased with the rendered designs and the promptness of the team. They were always on time with the task that we gave them. This helped the overall project finish on time and met the client's expectations.

Aside from Roud's stellar design which came from carefully listening to our aesthetic goals, Roud has an impressive commitment to making sure final details are resolved. They have the staying power that can be the difference in making sure the results are excellect.
