Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
We hired RedCode because we needed much more than a simple mobile application. Start Aftercare had to work as a complete digital product, with a user-facing app, a content management system, payment logic, reminders, multilingual content, and a way for salons to help clients access the app easily. At the beginning, RedCode helped us shape the product structure and translate the idea into a practical development plan. They worked on the mobile app flow, backend logic, database structure, CMS architecture, and the technical connections between all parts of the system. The project included planning, UX/UI refinement, mobile app development, CMS development, backend development, testing, bug fixing, and support during the release process. The mobile app allows users to choose the type of treatment they need aftercare for, including tattoos, piercings, tattoo removal, and permanent makeup. Users can purchase the relevant care package, follow daily aftercare instructions, receive reminders, change language settings, access FAQ and legal information, and manage their account options from inside the app. One of the most important parts of the project was the CMS. RedCode built a system that allows us to manage the content behind the application without depending on developers for every update. Through the CMS, we can manage aftercare instructions, care categories, packages, users, banners, FAQ entries, legal page links, and multilingual content. This gives us much more flexibility because the product depends on information that may need to be updated, expanded, or adjusted over time. RedCode also implemented multilingual support for 7 languages, which was essential for our long-term plans. The application can provide localized app content and aftercare information, making the product more suitable for users outside one local market. The app also includes configurable push reminders. Users can choose how often they want to receive aftercare reminders, and the notifications can take them directly to the relevant daily instruction inside the app. This was important because reminders are not just a marketing feature for us; they are part of the actual aftercare experience. On the commercial side, RedCode implemented in-app purchases for individual treatment packages and a bundled package. They also built a QR-based distribution flow, so salons can help clients access the app more easily by directing them to the download page. The main deliverables included the Android and iOS mobile app, custom CMS, backend and database setup, multilingual content structure, treatment package logic, in-app purchase implementation, push notification logic, deep linking, QR code distribution, user settings, account management, FAQ/legal content management, banner management, testing, and app store release support.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Dynamic CMS Control: Gave administrators direct control over aftercare instructions, FAQ entries, banners, legal links, users, packages, and multilingual app content without new app releases.
Dual-Platform Launch: Delivered and published the app on Google Play and the Apple App Store, completing the full Android/iOS product release cycle.
Automated Aftercare Reminders: Enabled users to configure push reminders 2, 4, 6, or 8 times per day, with deep links opening the relevant daily care instructions.
Mobile Monetization Setup: Integrated in-app purchases for individual treatment packages and a bundled package through Google Play and Apple App Store payment flows.
Salon Distribution Flow: Added QR code distribution so salons can direct clients from the treatment location to the app download page and digital aftercare journey.
• Android and iOS Release: RedCode delivered the application for both major mobile platforms and supported the process of making the product available through Google Play and the Apple App Store. • 7-Language Product Structure: The app was built with support for 7 languages, giving us a stronger foundation for international use and allowing users to access localized content instead of a one-language experience. • CMS-Based Content Updates: We can now update key parts of the product through the CMS, including aftercare instructions, FAQ content, banners, legal links, packages, care categories, and multilingual content, without needing a new app version for every update. • Configurable Reminder System: Users can set aftercare reminders 2, 4, 6, or 8 times per day, and the notifications can open the correct daily aftercare content directly inside the app. • Paid Package Access: The application supports individual treatment packages and a bundled package through in-app purchases, giving us the commercial structure needed for a paid mobile product. • Salon Access Flow: The QR code functionality gives salons a simple way to direct clients from the treatment location to the app download page and into the digital aftercare process.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Project Management & Responsiveness Practical Planning RedCode helped us break down a broad product idea into a realistic development scope. They were able to separate what needed to be part of the first release from what could be expanded later. Clear Technical Guidance They explained technical decisions clearly and helped us understand the consequences of different choices, especially around CMS management, multilingual content, in-app purchases, push reminders, and app store requirements. Responsive Communication The team was responsive throughout the project. When we had questions, feedback, or changes, they reacted quickly and helped us find practical solutions instead of only pointing out limitations. Problem Solving Across Connected Features This project had many connected parts: mobile app, CMS, payments, reminders, QR distribution, languages, backend logic, and content management. RedCode was able to connect these parts into one coherent product. Launch Support They also supported us through the final delivery and release process, which was important because publishing a mobile product involves more than just finishing development.
What was your primary form of communication with RedCode?

- Email or Messaging App
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They Understood the Product, Not Just the Features What stood out most was that RedCode understood the product as a whole. They were not only building screens and functions. They understood that the mobile app, CMS, payment logic, reminders, QR flow, and multilingual content all had to work together for the product to make sense. Strong Balance Between Mobile App and CMS Development Many teams can build either an app or an admin panel, but RedCode was able to connect both sides well. The CMS gives us control over the content, while the mobile app presents that content to users in a simple and structured way. Reliable and Direct Collaboration Their communication was direct, practical, and easy to follow. They were honest about technical limitations, but also proactive in finding solutions that would still support the product vision.
Are there any areas for improvement or something RedCode could have done differently?
More Documentation Earlier in the Process Because the product had many connected modules, more structured documentation earlier in the process could have made some decisions easier for us. However, RedCode helped clarify the logic as the project progressed and remained responsive whenever we needed explanations. Ongoing Product Development The app was built in a way that allows future development, so the work naturally continues after the first release. As we learn more from users and salons, we expect to keep improving the product with new content, refinements, and additional features.
