I’m the CEO of Aumivi Ltd. We create interactive virtual and mixed reality experience worlds for regions, cities, businesses, and tourism using thousands of high-resolution panoramas and database-driven technology.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire REALWER to accomplish for Aivi Ltd.?

We hired REALWER to design and develop our new backend platform, which serves as the central management hub for our places and location data.

What was the scope of their involvement?

REALWER has taken full ownership of the project from architecture to delivery. In addition to building the backend from the ground up, they’ve also developed and implemented new feature extensions on both the frontend and backend side, significantly enhancing the overall functionality and scalability of the platform. The project covers the full development lifecycle, including system design, implementation, and integration with our existing infrastructure. The main deliverables include: Our collaboration has followed a structured and long-term process. Over several years, we’ve held weekly meetings where REALWER has actively helped us find the right solutions for our clients' needs. We’ve worked closely together on visual prototyping, and once each concept was finalized, REALWER took full ownership of the frontend and backend development.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The most tangible outcome is the successful launch of the new backend — a fully operational platform that our team and clients now use daily to manage places and content independently. Beyond the platform itself, REALWER has delivered multiple working platform extensions (Hotspot Manager, Area Visualizer, Guided Tours, Live Status) that are actively deployed in client projects. The long-term collaboration — with weekly meetings over several years — has resulted in a scalable, production-ready product that forms the technical foundation of our Aumivi Platforms offering. Client onboarding has become significantly more efficient thanks to the self-service backend, reducing our internal workload considerably. From a development and product perspective, the outcome is clear: we now have a fully functional, production-ready admin platform and a complete set of extensions that previously didn’t exist. The structured collaboration — weekly meetings, joint prototyping, and iterative development over several years — has allowed us to build a complex product efficiently without the overhead of a large internal development team. The new backend is noticeably more intuitive and comfortable to use compared to the previous version. Day-to-day content management is faster and requires less effort from our team. The added platform extensions also give us significantly more capabilities without needing additional custom development work for each new client requirement.

How did REALWER perform from a project management standpoint?

REALWER has followed an agile, iterative approach throughout our collaboration. Initial versions have been delivered on schedule, and both parties understand that complex platform features require refinement and improvement over time. This iterative way of working suits our project well, as requirements have evolved continuously alongside our clients' needs. We have weekly meetings to ensure that progress is always transparent and adjustments can be made quickly. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What stands out the most is the genuine ownership and commitment from Vladimir (CEO). Unlike other development partners where you have to specify every single detail and functionality, he truly identifies with our project. He thinks along with us, proactively contributes ideas, and often comes up with solutions we haven’t considered ourselves. This partnership mindset — rather than a pure execution mindset — has made a significant difference in the quality and direction of the product over the years.

Are there any areas they could improve?

On smaller projects where we’ve needed to quote a client first before finalizing every detail — it’s sometimes been challenging to get an upfront budget estimate from REALWER when the full scope hasn’t yet been completely defined. Without that estimate, it’s been difficult for us to put together a reliable client proposal. This has worked much better once we’ve either defined the scope more precisely together or switched to an agile model with a fixed monthly budget — both approaches have eliminated the issue entirely.
