I'm the external media manager of an online jewelry store called Star Jewelry. We sell handcrafted jewelry and accessories.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rank By Focus, and what were your goals?

Our website is relatively new, and a lot of our team is relatively inexperienced and we don't have in-house developers to help us create a new website. We hired this team hoping that they would be able to help us out with a new website and manage our online presence.

Due to my team being relatively inexperienced and only knowing the theoretical aspects of SEO and backlinking, we were hoping that having professionals on our side would help increase our traffic, clicks and generate more sales.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

As a relatively new company, we wanted to find something that was affordable but also provided the necessary services. We chose this vendor after an online consultation where we got to see examples of their work, meet their team and also got a cost estimate.

The initial consultation involved us describing our goals and things such as our target demographic as well as our advertising strategy. They were able to show us previous examples of their work and gave us a lot of options to choose from. From there they were able to give us a rough draft for our site which was then sent to management.

After some back and forth meetings, we were able to get a new website that was not only secure, but also allowed us to improve our overall e-commerce experience that we provided to potential clients. The website was much more streamlined and easier to read, and was also unique and fit our company perfectly.

We worked with a SEO manager, web designer and project manager. The project manager was our main point of contact throughout the whole process but we worked with all of them.

After our new site was launched, we received a lot of feedback from customers saying that navigation was a lot easier now, and comments on how they appreciated the multiple payment options that were now available. We also saw an increase in our rankings on Google and saw a 60% increase in traffic with sales soaring by 150%.

Most of our communication was through the project manager who provided us with continuous updates on the status of the website. We communicated mainly through emails. If there were any delays we were alerted immediately.

They clearly had a lot of experience with building websites. Since my team is relatively inexperienced, I also appreciated how patient they were in teaching us about how SEO worked and walked us through exactly what they were doing so we were always on the same page. My team and I definitely appreciated how great they were at breaking down concepts into terms that we could understand.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We didn't run into any issues, and I doubt we will run into issues moving into the future. They reply very quickly and promptly, and are always providing us with updates on the website.

After the launch, our registration moved completely online which saved countless hours of translating paper applications to a database. Our web traffic increased about 60%, helping grow our organization even more.

We had daily email communication with the team we worked with and when necessary we were able to teleconference with them. They were always very warm and responsive, and were quick to put together a plan of action for anything necessary to ensure that everyone was on the same page and the project stayed on schedule.

The personal approach was by far my favorite thing about working with Rank By Focus. It didn't feel like I was speaking to another corporate vendor just completing another assignment, I felt like they were truly invested in the success of our project. Whenever we had questions they were more than happy to stop whatever they were working on to resolve them and educate us on how and why a lot of back-end decisions are made.
