INVID is a proactive IT partner and advisor that simplifies and improves our clients’ operations. Our experience and expertise facilitate your day-to-day work and provide you with solutions that support and develop your business. I am the team leader for our consultants and developers and also the project manager for the implementation of the mobile application.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Quadrivium?

We needed the mobile application for the monitoring system of the production equipment. The application should allow the engineering staff to monitor equipment health and production order to avoid its failure.

What were your goals for this project?

Develop a competitive mobile application that makes it easier for manufacturing companies with the ability to get push notifications when the machines are stationary or not keeping their speed/pace.

SOLUTION

How did you select Quadrivium?

The application had to be connected to Azure and that's why we were searching for a team that was professional in this area. Our partner suggested us Quadrivium and we decided to make a call to know this team better.

After that call, they created a specification that describes our app and the whole structure which was very helpful for us. They showed us their deep understanding not only of the technical side of the project but also of the business one.

Describe the project in detail.

The main purpose of the app was to provide the ability to use real-time dashboards, KPIs, receive Andon notifications and manage technical issue cases by providing their classification and description along with photo, video or document materials for a given case.

For its creation, the next technologies were used: .NET Core 3.1, Web API, Xamarin, Azure Notifications Hub, Apple Push Notification Service, Google Firebase, Angular 7, SQL Server, Identity Server 4. The development process was divided into several milestones related to back-end and mobile development.

What was the team composition?

We agreed on direct communication with a lead developer. Business communication was provided by their account manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app was created with high quality. I cannot share measurable outcomes because it is an app for internal usage. But need to say that equipment monitoring is much easier today and crashes can be prevented.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had weekly status update meetings the first time, later we asked for biweekly meetings because we were satisfied with the progress. Team lead of the project communicated with us tightly in Teams (we offered this channel because it's more common for our company).

When they have some lack of information from our side they always wrote to us and described what exactly they needed to proceed with the development in time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

These guys gave us a really professional attitude.

Are there any areas for improvement?

When we launched the app there were some minor bugs and we let them know about it. The developer took it into account and made fixes very quickly.

We engaged Quadrivium to help with the development of several projects. We needed a really reliable and professional partner who could deliver a high-quality services to our clients

How did you select Quadrivium and what were the deciding factors?

We found them through a recommendation

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We first acquired our client’s requirements for the app they wanted to build. First step is always an intro meeting with a client where their CTO describes their vision of building of the client's app. After this meeting usually work starts.

They always offer a detailed project plan of the development with milestones and strict deadlines. If something changes they inform me and clients immediately and suggest ways of how to solve the issues. Also, every week there are meeting with clients for status updates, because the team wants not only to show what they have done but also to take a live feedback. Live chatting in Slack is very helpful for excellent deliverability too. For now, they worked with projects using Core Java and .Net.

I am communicating with CTO, Key account manager and sometimes with developers (but not often).

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our clients are very satisfied with their work, so some projects moved to the support stage by Quadrivium. And, the key point is that there are plans for further development next year using the help of Quadrivium

They understood every requirement and offered valuable insights. The team communicated effectively from start to finish. We could reach out to them at any time to discuss additional features. And they reached us if there were some issues which blocked the development process. They are very proactive
