Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a medical staffing company that provides doctors and dentists to various companies and organizations globally. I’m the senior project coordinator here, so I focus on software implementation and function similarly to an industrial organizational psychologist.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with PythonDevs?

We were looking to automate some of our recruitment processes because we found ourselves doing repetitive tasks like creating spreadsheets and consolidating data. Ideally, we were looking to save our employees time on these manual tasks to open them up to other tasks.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created two different programs for us so far, and we’re in the process of building two more together. The programs are automating our data collection, extraction, and saving processes.

Many people at our company aren’t very technical, so it was also important for them to find these programs accessible in their day-to-day work. Most of the programs were made with Python, and some used Java as well. They also created a graphical user interface to make the products easy for our staff to utilize. 

What is the team composition?

I work directly one main point of contact on their end. He functions as our project manager. 

How did you come to work with PythonDevs?

I have a nutritional powder food company startup outside of my full-time job. In that effort, I connected with them for a marketing software implementation project. Because they did such great work in that role, I brought them on here as well.  

How much have you invested with them?

At this point, we’ve spent over $5,000. I anticipate that our spend will get closer to $15,000 by the end of 2020.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around January 2020, and the project is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work effectively does exactly what I need it to do. It takes in the correct inputs and delivers outputs that match our requirements. So far, all their programs work as needed. At this point, the automated processes have saved 500–1,000 man-hours.  

How did PythonDevs perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager delegates tasks to the programmers behind the scenes. His turnaround time for most tasks is only about a week, which is really quick. We communicate over email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m pretty particular about how I want the programs to look, and they’ve been very accommodating about making changes as requested. Typically, after beta testing, there are only a few more edits to make before the project is finished. They offer super competitive rates while delivering fully-functioning programs on impressive timelines.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t say anything negative about our relationship. We’ve had to change our payment method from PayPal to an option that supports payments to India, but that’s not at all their fault.
