We provide an art platform in the form of an iOS and a web app.

I am the business development and strategy manager.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Producters?

We needed development resources for our existing Android and iOS apps. It is quite expensive to develop with the local resources in California. 

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

Producters developed both of our apps based on their previous versions. Producters made some significant changes, especially on our web app. We have used Parse Hosting for it, but are considering self-hosting it. We use Mandrill for email notifications. Producters provided a two-person team, including a project manager.

How did you come to work with Producters?

I found Producters through a friend who handled the research and offered me five different companies to choose from. I talked to two of them. In the end, I like Producters and their team the most.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The total cost of Producters' services has been in the $20,000 to $30,000 range. Their hourly rate is $15.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Producters in November 2015. We have an ongoing relationship. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Producters is better than the team we've used before, which was based in Philippines, but their work still had many bugs. It was important for us to test the deliverables constantly and sent Producters feedback.

How did Producters perform from a project management standpoint?

Producters was responsive overall and any defects were fixed, although it took more time to finish the work than initially thought. Our budget was maintained, for the most part. We used GitHub for tracking code for our apps.

What distinguishes Producters from other providers?

Producters had a good sense of what the product needed to be, from a business perspective.

Is there anything Producters could have improved or done differently?

The main downside of working with Producters were the bugs in our software.
