Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of an online market for kids’ glasses.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Prodio DesignWorks?

We needed to outsource product development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We went over product design with Prodio, discussing the challenges we needed addressed. From there, They did UX/UI and development. They built our entire platform from product design to engineering, infrastructure, APIs, everything.

We used a Mean Stack for the platform. The frontend is coded in React.js. 

Currently, they do maintenance, and help with scaling. 

What is the team composition?

We work with three people, including Kaushal (Strategy/UX). 

How did you come to work with Prodio DesignWorks?

They were recommended by my friend. I liked some of their projects I saw, as well as the personal attention and advisement they could offer.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $25,000 – $27,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around May 2019, and the project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their code management is very disciplined, so there are very few cases of bad code that get into production. They are up to speed with the technologies required. They’re handling the DevOps of the platform for us, and we are satisfied with their performance. 

How did Prodio DesignWorks perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira, Trello, and have daily stand-up calls. We do 7-10-day sprints. Prodio has a disciplined process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They give good advice, helping us discern what we should, and shouldn’t, focus on. I appreciated their influence during product design, and that we could integrate our platform with other applications for easier onboarding and customer attention. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have anything specific.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about what you want and what you’re building, and break it down into sections. Present your challenges, and listen to their solutions.
