For what projects/services did your company hire PointMatrix IT Services, and what were your goals?

Development of a Saas program designed to provide accounting and practice management solutions to the legal industry. This is an ongoing project that continues to evolve as the needs of our end users increase.

How did you select PointMatrix IT Services and what were the deciding factors?

From the beginning PointMatrix were transparent and helpful. They pointed out pitfalls and assisted in areas of technology that we were not experienced in. To date they have remained honest and transparent. Always ready to assist at a moments notice.

When we first went to PointMatrix our goals were not particularly big. We wanted a simple solution. Our goals grew as new ideas arose. PointMatrix have allowed us to grow our program incrementally.

The initial scope of work was delivered within a reasonable time frame, however they have made it easy for us to continue develop the program and remain competitive in the Legal Tech space.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We have worked with about 4-5 team members over the years. We have one key developer plus access to other designers and technical experts when needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It is difficult to measure as we only had a small project in mind initially, however that small project rapidly grew into an all encompassing program. What PointMatrix managed to help us achieve, was to allow us to expand the project at our pace.

Growing our ideas became easy because the team at PointMatrix made us comfortable in the knowledge that they were there to support us every step of the way. A small idea has become an enormous success.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We communicate via Skype mostly, however they are always available via Whatsapp and Telephone if we need to contact them urgently outside of office hours. The project management style we have adopted suits our needs.

We juggle a longer term development goals with smaller daily tasks for patches. The free flowing project management suits our requirements, as we drive the next steps.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The diverse knowledge that the company has amongst the team. Their commitment to achieving quality work and over the years, their loyalty and friendship are amazing.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I honestly can't fault anything they have done for us to date. They are just always there to assist. I wouldn't want anything to be done differently. We work together as a team. It is hard to improve on perfection.

What challenge were you trying to address with PointMatrix IT Services?

We needed a developer that shared our vision, but also had the necessary design and development capabilities to meet our specifications. Consequently, PointMatrix IT Services needed to understand the Australian legal industry’s compliance requirements and appreciate how critical that component would be to the project’s success.

They developed a Zend PHP-based web application. We ensure compliance with an Australian regulatory body’s standards for features including the trust account.

We work with Niraj (Founder and Director, PointMatrix IT Services).

How did you come to work with PointMatrix IT Services?

Niraj responded to my posting on Freelancer.com. I had poor experiences with other vendors, but I felt PointMatrix IT Services would be the perfect fit because they supplement our skills gaps. Niraj promised to deliver everything as expected. I wasn’t tech savvy, but he was happy to share his knowledge and communicate clearly; the latter quality was a deciding factor in our selection process.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2010 and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The web application is successful because it exceeds my expectations for compliance and functionality. PointMatrix IT Services progressed incrementally through the project’s phases and got the solution to market in a timely manner. During development, the individual deliveries were always within my expectations.

How did PointMatrix IT Services perform from a project management standpoint?

Niraj is always available to discuss the project; we Skype on a daily basis. He is committed to the partnership and allocates additional resources to complete tasks quickly. They always deliver.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Unlike other vendors, PointMatrix IT Services delivers on their promises. The team’s professionalism, knowledge, and integrity stand out. They research development processes and skills ensure accurate results.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I can’t imagine anyone else working on my project. There isn’t much I could ask them to do better. I know their other clients are incredibly happy.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be honest at the start to ensure effective communication between teams. For offshore partnerships, it’s important that each side understands the other’s culture.

I’m the founder of a private online ordering provider for restaurants worldwide. We were founded in 2007 to provide solutions for restaurants that have online ordering on their websites.

We didn’t have the skillset to develop the core technologies for our platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

PointMatrix helped us develop the software that we use to implement our services. They’ve been our partner almost from the beginning. They implement the ideas that we bring to them, using Java among others. We don’t have an in-house IT team, PointMatrix manages all of it for us.

How did you come to work with PointMatrix IT Services?

I met the owner through a friend of a friend. We developed a relationship and I hired him. It was really important for us to have 24-hour coverage. We have a lot of international clients. We’re an American company so it made sense for us to have a partner abroad that works during other hours of the day.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since 2009 and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our platform manages thousands of orders from across the world every day. We can’t afford any downtime. Thanks to PointMatrix, we’ve had very little of it. When it does occur, they’re able to keep it to a minimum. This is a critical issue to us and they’ve done a superior job on that front.

They have the complete skill set that we need. In order to stay competitive and relevant, we have to adapt and integrate new technologies very quickly. With PointMatrix, there’s never been a point at which we haven’t been able to do what we needed to do.

How did PointMatrix IT Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re able to get things accomplished quickly and within the timeframes that we need them in. Very often we have to move quickly or change direction. They’re able to keep up, which is important. I need to have a dynamic team behind me.

They’re always available to me. They provide great customer service. I'm a big believer in relationships and we have a very strong one. They’ve been intricately important to our growth and success. I have nothing but glowing remarks for them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to manage multiple problems—and solve all of them—has been the biggest win for me. When we run into issues, they’re always able to resolve them. that skillset is critically important in an environment in which so many things can alter a system’s operation.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would love for them to has a US-based office. If they were here too, I could have even more of their time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ensure that someone can work with them constantly. If you're a US-based company and don't have someone who can work at night to work with them during their business hours, the relationship probably won’t be as productive as it could be and may be difficult to manage. If you're willing to modify your hours to work with them, it can be a very productive relationship.
