Since this was an IT staff outsourcing engagement, we’re constantly working on new tasks, making tweaks, and refining processes. Some measurable outcomes so far include:

I'm the CEO of Environmental AI Inc. We automate environmental documentation, permitting, and compliance using AI.

What challenge were you trying to address with Plus8soft?

We needed help taking a concept and developing an MVP.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of work done?

Plus8soft built out a knowledge database, developed an initial LLM and website portal, and produced a functional MVP. The MVP focused on NEPA environmental assessments (EA). The website AI chat allowed for project input prompts, sourced from a limited knowledge database, and produced an EA chapter by chapter. It also provided the option to regenerate each chapter following an editor-style review before continuing.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with three people, and there were at least 3–5 other team members.

How did you come to work with Plus8soft?

We found Plus8soft through a referral from network contacts with the Stanford rugby team. We had an initial network connection and then several informal discussions.

What is the status of this engagement?

We had initial discussions in late fall 2024. The project kicked off in January 2025, and the MVP was ready in April 2025. Work is still pending on the next iterations as I demo the product and seek additional funding.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We sourced data to produce the initial knowledge database, developed the website, and created prompts. The final product spoke for itself; the first iteration worked, and the initial demonstrations were positive. Users had been expecting something like this for about a year, and they were excited to use it. It would decrease document preparation time significantly. The MVP produced an initial draft EA within minutes versus a standard writing process that could take weeks to months.

How did Plus8soft perform from a project management standpoint?

Plus8soft had very open and transparent communication using multiple tools (Teams, Slack, etc.). The product was delivered on time and within budget. We had to pivot a few times related to the complexity of the database size, document sizes, and how to chunk that volume of data into vectors and then token processing. It came down to time, quality, and cost for me and being flexible on what the MVP needed to demonstrate. Plus8soft provided options that allowed me to stay within my budget and still produce a functional MVP.

Not being from a computer tech background, Plus8soft took the time to explain the process and point me toward other resources to learn.
