I own a few companies, including the New England Tennis Center, an indoor tennis facility around New England. I’m also a director at Nike Sports Camps.

What challenge were you trying to address with Perfect Evolution?

As an entrepreneur, I wear many hats. As a result, I need to outsource some of the things I do — such as marketing, accounting, and software assistance — to run the businesses properly. With that in mind, I’ve hired Perfect Evolution to help me.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Perfect Evolution provides support for my businesses. I communicate with them every few months, and they assist me in various projects — we’ve had a lot of project-based work. We have a rhythm of highs and lows in terms of what needs to be done.

For their development work, they use WordPress and Shopify. They also work with my marketing team, which assists them on website development projects. Perfect Evolution also uses Nike-approved images.

I only work with Marcus (Owner & Designer).

How did you come to work with Perfect Evolution?

I was working with another company with which Marcus was connected. Eventually, my needs became a scaled-down version of the company’s needs. As a result, they let me work directly with Marcus. From there, my engagement with Perfect Evolution started. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $15,000–$20,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement started in September 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Marcus has become my go-to person for anything related to the websites I own. If I have e-commerce needs or adjustments to marketing campaigns, I go to him. He knows about evolving technology and provides recommendations on how my sites can be better. 

How did Perfect Evolution perform from a project management standpoint?

Perfect Evolution is also on point in terms of communication. I receive same-day responses. They go above and beyond their allotted hours when additional work is needed. I don’t see any random bills — everything is transparent. I truly appreciate their honesty and integrity. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve always done everything in a timely manner, and their work’s quality always exceeds my expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. We’ve grown together, so we’ve never had any issues. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Spend some time knowing Marcus. Before receiving any quote or sending emails back and forth, allocate 15–30 minutes for a Zoom meeting with him. That way, you can have an understanding of his capabilities.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Director of Development and the Interim Director of Communications at Borealis Philanthropy, a philanthropic intermediary that supports social justice movement ecosystems.

For what projects/services did your company hire Perfect Evolution?

Due to digital security concerns, we needed to overhaul our website. Perfect Evolution helped us reconceptualize our online presence and bring us into the 21st century. He also helped train our staff on how to build and maintain it, supported with special projects and ongoing maintenance.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were looking for someone with wordpress experience that was creative, responsive and thoughtful about supporting our organization through a redevelopment process and could support the project management aspects of the work as well as provide ongoing support.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Marcus helped us think through what we needed, what was working, what we wanted and what was possible. He helped us implement a brand new website that was mobile friendly and responsive. He did a great job taking the project from inception through implementation to launch as well as the continued evolution and expansion of the content.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We primarily worked with Marcus, but i believe several people on his team were part of the project, mostly behind the scenes.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We successfully launched a new, updated, responsive website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We continue to work well with Marcus and his team

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are helpful, supportive, creative, and able to work with a variety of people on my team. They were able to meet our needs and help us also plan ahead.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes managing timelines and big projects that require iterations and changes along the way presented challenges and opportunities for miscommunication. Overall Marcus and his team have been incredibly helpful in achieving our goals.
