PeakRatio is a business consultancy built for small and medium-sized enterprises. We work with founders and owners who know their business could run better but don't have the time, structure, or outside perspective to work out what's actually in the way.

We focus on three areas that matter most to SME performance: strategy and growth, operational improvement, and financial performance. Most of our clients are owner-managed businesses turning over between £500k and £10m, often at a point where the founder is still involved in everything and the business needs to work without them in every room.

What makes us different is how we work. We embed alongside the business rather than delivering a report and walking away. That means working with the people inside the company, understanding how decisions actually get made, and helping build the systems, processes, and financial visibility that let the business run more effectively day to day.

On the growth side, we help owners get clear on where the real commercial leverage sits, whether that's pricing, market focus, pipeline, or proposition. On operations, we design and implement the processes and tools that remove the founder as the bottleneck. On finance, we bring cashflow forecasting, management reporting, and CFO-level thinking to businesses that don't yet need a full-time finance director.

We're Glasgow-based and work with clients across Scotland and the UK. PeakRatio was founded by Brian Valentine, who brings 15 years of experience spanning engineering, finance, commercial management, and SME ownership. That mix means we understand both the numbers and the reality of running a business with limited time and resource.
