We needed a backend developer to help with a few priorities:

3. implement new templates in a standardized manner.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for different vendors and conducted multiple interviewers. Passionate Agency was by far the most knowledgeable and responsive. Our website was built poorly and they had the know-how to correct errors. We knew we wanted to work with them because they were always clear about their approach to building templates and communicated clearly about the pros/cons of each approach.

The project steps were fairly simple. We asked them to build templates and pages in Elementor. Passionate Agency is always able to take our mockups or instructions and execute into webpages. Troubleshooting errors was mostly led by them - they kept us informed of what would be fixed and what needed to be replaced. For all of our other requests, they always completed tasks accordingly whether it be technical or about generating more pages.

A project manager was our main point of contact and we worked with another full-stack developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to launch our website without errors as this was something that delayed us from launching. Passionate Agency was able to find a solution when multiple developers could not.

Communication through email and Slack has always been timely. Responsiveness is not an issue.

They were always quick to respond and proactively offered solutions.

We needed an agency to redesign our website, and were impressed by the portfolio presented by Passionate. Our site was very basic, outdated, and had no clear visual branding, lacking of targeted material, information overload and inconsistency, which made it difficult to capture ‘who we are’ and 'what we do'.

The desired website would be integrating our new visual identity and have a design that reflects a market leader – inspiring, modern, and sleek - and all about how happy ice cream makes people.

It should be consistent of clear content, easy to navigate and with a purpose of the site being a combination of a landing page that redirects via links to our local business websites and a company page for our wider group/umbrella company.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected Passionate based on their professional and flexible process, their experience level and creative case examples. It was essential that they had experience with WordPress and Elementor to fit our required systems.

Based on our initial meetings going through expectations and design brief, we received two drafts for the home page and overall theme. It worked really well to give feedback in Figma prior to the agreed layout.

During the process, we had quite a few extra demands and elements that we wanted to add, and it was great that the designers just took on the task and developed some customized features, delivering within a short timeframe. We are very pleased with the final result and would definitely use Passionate again for future projects.

We mainly worked with 2 designers and a project manager, who was also the CEO of the company.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Response time and turn around of amendments were very quick. Design was to a high standard, which has been complimented throughout our organisation as a big step up from our previous site capabilities.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was good and constructive. Easy communication. I would have preferred if there was a better solution on communicating changes to the website throughout the whole process. I was great to have Figma in the first phase, but hard to change to email for the remaining process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

That anything we wanted was possible. An ideas was always taken in and solutions presented. In addition, they were very patient with our feedback, which gave a very pleasant process and overall experience.

We also liked the collaborative spirit and fair pricing level compared to other agencies, who tend to be expensive but not always deliver on quality design.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Overall, we have a very positive experience and collaboration with Passionate. A few recommendations could be:

• In some cases a phone call would have been more effective than email communication.
• Some times changes were not applied because of some valid reasons, but we had to realise ourselves that it was missing rather than getting the reasoning in a status email.

Our website was created in Wordpress by another agency. It didn’t give us the flexibility we were looking for but we also didn’t have the capacity in house to build a new website. Next to that our sister company needed a completely new website. We wanted to create two new websites on Webflow to make it easier for us to work with and improve sitespeed.

They came highly recommended and were super helpful. Both the timeframe in which they could deliver and the cost of the project were also significantly lower than other vendors.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. We already submitted the designs so the team could start working straight away. We had some status update meetings. They were able to deliver great work in a short amount of time with very clear communication throughout the process. They delivered two fully functional websites with multiple pages.

There was a project manager who was our main point of contact throughout the process. Next to him there was one person who delivered the websites.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are very happy with the overall result. The sitespeed improved which was one of the things we asked for. Overall the design of both websites was improved tremendously.

They picked up the project really quickly. We had a few check-in meetings with the project manager to align on the details. We communicated per email or Google Meets. They were able to deliver within two weeks. This while other agencies we interviewed claimed to need months.

Their clear communication, willingness to help, and timeline in which they were able to deliver were impressive. And the quality of the sites are great!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

After launching there were some minor bugs with the cookies. But when we let them know they fixed it right away.

Passionate Digital Agency’s work helped me successfully launch my website. I was very pleased with the work they did — Passionate Digital Agency completed everything I asked for and was receptive to my feedback. Also, my website is at the top of the first page in Google search results.

Since the project wasn’t expansive, Passionate Digital Agency completed everything in six days. We typically communicated through email and phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Billie was kind, respectful, easygoing, and didn’t try to add in extra costs when I needed to make edits. I appreciated how easily she handled the project.

Passionate Digital Agency was just perfect; there is nothing for them to improve.

The project was completed on time. We found them to be responsive and made the necessary changes in a timely manner. Since the launch of our business, we have found the traffic to our website increasing and received comments that the website was clear and easy to follow

Zoom meetings and phone calls were arranged on a regular basis to follow the progress of the project. They were responsive to request and no requests were too small. Changes were made on a timely manner.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was most impressed with their design team and they were particularly creative. We worked in a collaborative manner and we learnt a lot from them as to what would work and what would not.

Although we would have like the project to be finished quicker we wanted to make sure that the project was not rushed and the quality compromised.

Thanks to Passionate, we got 5 times more demo requests than expected, all down to great UX and design!

Very little friction: the original brief was well executed and feedback was well received, well understood and executed beyond expectations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Passionate's speed and level of design execution are amazing. This, coupled with solid coding make them an outstanding that I cannot but warmly recommend.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Coding was patchy in a couple of occurences, but this is more down to our own react.js unique requirements than Passionate's level of execution.

Challenge to create a recognisable, serious logo that needed to be attractive to academics, non-academics, scientists and all those working in the field of trying to help everyone have healthier, longer lives.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We have worked with this design team on a number of projects in past, including the cover of the book Moo's Law: An investor's guide to the New Agrarian Revolution and the website design.

Having worked with the team before, it was a very simple process. I prepared a brief for them outlining the requirements and trying to identify the people we were appealing to and included some logos of other groups logos that we did not want to be copying in any way. This is a very important document as it clarifies the client's needs as well as giving direction to the designers.

I then had a couple of emails with the team but, to be honest, they got on with this urgent job and were fantastic. We received three designs, presented in a variety of creative ways so that we could visualise the logo in use. I circulated this to the Executive Board for approval. One said that they were all so good, he would be happy to use any.

We chose one, asked for a slight tweek to the colour and when approved were sent a suite of files with every conceivable variation on the logo that we might need. This is so useful to have.

We will be using the logo they designed with pride. They worked very quickly to help us create the logo in a short timeframe.

We had a kick-off meeting where we described what our needs were, Passionate then offered a step-by-step guide on what would happen next and provided a quote. Once we agreed on the quotation for the project, they provided wireframes of what the new site would look like. They were really helpful in providing the information we needed for the migration which was completed really quickly (within a few hours!).

They then did the work and we met up regularly to review and suggest any edits. Once the site was up and working, we then processed their invoice and we're still working with them to this day! Excellent service.
