I’m an entrepreneur with a number of mobile apps.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ora Infotech?

I had the idea to make a recipe app that would allow people to create something with the ingredients they have on hand. I wanted to allow users to select their ingredients and see all the recipes they could make from those. I needed a vendor to build the app for me.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ora Infotech has developed multiple mobile apps including two or three games and a recipe app. The apps are primarily for Android, including one we recently launched in China, as well as for iOS.

We worked collaboratively. For the recipe app, I put all the information in a file for them. They designed and developed it, then sent me the final app file to upload to the App Store. The apps have multiple features like a chat function and games built into the recipe app.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with one counterpart.

How did you come to work with Ora Infotech?

I was searching for a games developer when I found their profile. I spoke to them and had them develop my initial game. I had worked with freelancers before with whom I had a number of problems. They would do the least amount of work and demand payment. Then, they would disappear—so if there were any issues, they weren’t around to address them. With Ora Infotech, we didn’t have any issues with payment and they did an amazing job, so I started using them for more projects.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2018. The most recent project was completed in April 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They understand my requirements. if I need new features or require updates, they understand what I need and work towards producing it.

How did Ora Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate primarily through email and WhatsApp. I tell them what I need and they work out a timeline for it. If there are any issues, I speak with my counterpart, who’s very helpful. They work quickly and alert me of any issues. Once we had a payment problem because of an issue with my bank but they didn’t pressure me. They’ve been great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their work ethic is strong. When I receive the final product, I can see the effort they put into it. It looks like and does what I wanted it to do. They don’t just do the minimum of work. I have a level of confidence that if I ask them to do something, they’ll get it done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I'm pretty happy with them. I don’t have to correct their work. They’re always available and they accommodate me. They don’t just deliver basic work in order to get paid. They take the time to understand what you want and they stay within budget. For me, that’s their biggest selling point. They’re so much better than everyone else.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

There are a lot of freelancers out there and the competition is intense. If they continue to do the good work they do and maintain their strong work ethic, they’ll become more popular with potential customers.
