I’m the director of an online collaboration platform for consulates, embassies, and consular corps worldwide.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with NUIT?

We engaged with NUIT to create our platform. We had the concepts but needed a technology partner to translate our ideas into an actual cloud-based application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We went through all of the stages with NUIT. During the discovery phase, we sat down with them to go over the business requirements, accommodating the fact that we were still developing the idea. They were attuned to the fact that there would be changes. During the design phase, their team came up with a proof of concept, and then the development of the application began.

They set up a production and development server for us. We also have an authenticated space within the platform where users can log in and have a private section to share knowledge. The public-facing part is available to anyone who searches the platform online.

Along the way, the team at NUIT also provided consultation services. When we have ideas for new features, we always run it by them to determine the impact and complexities of the function. We heavily rely on them a tech partner to understand our priorities.

How did you come to work with NUIT?

When we had the idea to launch the venture, we did a thorough search and interviewed at least five or six different companies. We were keen on finding someone in Central Europe, and that’s how we ran into NUIT. After a few in-person interviews and conversations, we ended up picking them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with NUIT three years ago in the spring of 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

There is total satisfaction from our end. The team at NUIT came through for us, building a wonderful application. They’ve assisted with fixes along the way as well. NUIT set up a nice system that was well tested. They had a great best practice on how to perform script testing, and even some education when they launched a few administrative features for our use. Every time we’ve pushed something into production, it’s worked.

We always receive a heads-up when our certificates expire, so I don’t have to monitor that closely. It’s an easy-to-use platform from a customer perspective.

How did NUIT perform from a project management standpoint?

The team at NUIT is professional and always on time. We mostly use email and sometimes use Skype or WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their attention to detail and honesty. I’ve worked with a few vendors before, and this is the main reason that we’re continuing to work with NUIT. Their team gives us upfront commentary and opinions. It really feels that NUIT has our best interests at heart. Over the years, our relationship has grown nicely. That doesn’t often happen with other vendors.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really, I am quite happy. I like that they are a smaller shop and favor the collaboration tools we use. Complex client engagement portals and project management layers would bring more overhead and bureaucracy. I’m happy with how we communicate. It’s lean enough for us. Others may see that as a negative, but for us, it’s a positive aspect.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Share your ideas. Involve them as much as you can as early as possible. Allow them to see the big picture and don’t withhold too much. Clients should always consider their feedback.
