We have been working together on the development of our AI enabled web application for students. NuevaCode provided one developer for the entire time and two more for a few weeks. The first one worked in our React Frontend and recently started taking over tasks in one of our .NET backend services. The others worked in our AI focused Python backend services. These software developers together with our other external designers, software developers and our internal lead developer make up our development team. 

We managed to complete our first prototype a few weeks ago and are currently working on our second refined prototype. We are planning to complete it within the next two months, so that we can start with the closed beta. We manage our project using Jira und GitHub. The developers from NuevaCode meet with our lead developer on a daily basis, talking about their progress, the problems and their next tasks. The key develiverables are the software code, which is provided in terms of Pull Requests which are reviewed and merged by our lead developer.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• We completed the development of the first prototype, where NuevaCode has been involved pretty much from the beginning 
• We are making good progress with our second prototype 
• We have already reviewed and merged dozens of Pull Requests and therefore included a lot of code that was written by the NuevaCode staff 
• As we meet us on a daily basis, we know for a fact, that NuevaCode is delivering actual value to our development process

We are organizing the NuevaCode staff within our own project management process. The software developers join our team full time, participate in our dailies, sprint reviews and sprint plannings. They keep their promises, deliver on time most of the times and try to understand our business and our customer needs. 

We have an amazing professional relationship with the agency owner, as we both try to understand each others needs and expectations. In the previous months he demonstrated to us, that is able to provide us with reliable and competent software developers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The software developers provided by NuevaCode are extremely competent and reliable, especially with respect to the pricing. Also, the friendly but still professional relationship that we keep with the agency owner (Ivan) helps us to trust the developers as well as the agency in general.

Are there any areas for improvement or something NuevaCode could have done differently?

The screening process for new developers at NuevaCode could be improved to make sure, that only very competent and experienced developers are recommended to us (and other clients). That is definitely not the norm and the only thing where we hope for improvement.

I am a Founder at GJS & Company, which is a holding company for various financial interests and investments in certain tech startups where I personally play some role in product development and delivery.

For what projects/services did your company hire NuevaCode, and what were your goals?

As both an entrepreneur and a full-stack software developer myself, I had successfully exited prior technology ventures, but needed additional help to bring some new ideas to life. One such idea required both technical advice and custom programming. My primary goal was to align with others who would care as much about seeing a successful product delivery as I certainly would as an investor. This is not usually easy to achieve.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

In the early spring of 2021, I was considering a traditional, domestic hiring approach that would require employing an internal dev team. The expense and commitment to an internal team at GJS & Company was not practical given the startup stages of its small portfolio, nor was traditional outsourcing a viable option. This was a bit of a quandary because initial needs were somewhat casual and undefined, and largely concentrated on one portfolio company alone.

Blue Neon Ventures - a company chiefly concerned with building a SaaS product that captures referrals for increasing clients and candidates for employment, primarily in the Aging Care industry. I was approached by someone who would later become a founder of NuevaCode. After some discussion, we began an engagement that could comfortably evolve in a manner more consistent with the evolving needs of GJS's portfolio company.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The project has involved defining requirements and scoping them according to accepted Agile development methodology, and then rapidly iterating on those requirements in 2-week sprints to produce quality code.

Key deliverables have involved a flexible React/NextJS, server-side rendered application deployed in AWS via Fargate, static React applications served from AWS S3 via CloudFront, AWS AppSync (GraphQL) APIs, Lambda functions, and other serverless technologies in the AWS service ecosystem.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

At any given time, I have interfaced with up to two individuals at NuevaCode for both software development and graphic design.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We plan for a beta release in the spring of 2023. It would have been very challenging to accomplish this without the flexible and personal approach of NuevaCode's leadership.

Communication was very comfortable and there has always been an eagerness to provide creative insights when welcomed. Communication has largely been facilitated via Slack, Atlassian Jira, and Google Meet.

There is a shared vision and philosophy - a spirit of innovation and encouragement.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I believe that NuevaCode will continue to adapt as it experiences new clients and their project requirements. I only encourage NuevaCode to continue to be as open and enthusiastic about learning from their clients' needs as I've already experienced.

We were looking for a passionate .NET/React Consultant who can help us implement features under microservice architecture, and introduce CI/CD practices, including the setup of environments, automatic deployments, and automation scripts. We hired NuevaCode as the best match between budget and the value they could bring to our team and product!

NuevaCode, and its primary developer were recommended to me by a respected friend and former colleague. After meeting the founder, I was impressed with him and decided to engage their services.

NuevaCode is providing ongoing development, support and assistance with our primary application. MaxMyDeal is a SAS web application that helps automobile dealership management to quickly identify the lending sources that provide the Maximum opportunity for any given circumstance based on lender guidelines.

We have worked primarily with the founder of NuevaCode and one other.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I am very pleased with the development effort, communication, attention to detail, timing and quality of deliverables provided by NuevaCode. We continue to work with them in our ongoing efforts and on planned enhancements to our core product.

We communicate with members of NuevaCode primarily through Microsoft Teams conferencing. We have scheduled teleconference meetings two to three times per week and track progress via Atlassian Jira.

Customer attentiveness, courtesy of service, adaptability and level of expertise as well as quality of workmanship have all been impressive.

We are very pleased with NuevaCode's customer service and quality of workmanship. We plan to continue working with them going forward.
