Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We were getting briefed by a client on a video production project for the launch of a new website and it became obvious to us and them that the brief wasn't ready, largely because the brand proposition was unclear both internally and externally. I suggested they speak to the team at Notepad to help diagnose some of the issues and provide some clarity. The end result was the client understanding the value of a clear brand proposition, being able to articulate it in both their internal and external comms and a coherent brand identity to tie everything together.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There were measurable increases branded search traffic, dwell times, reduced bounce rates and website conversions as well as a first time desire from the client to invest in measuring NPS. Internally employees had a clearer understanding of the brand proposition across the board, particularly outside of their own remit. Plus the brand assets were coherent across the organisation and easier to use. It also made my life significantly easier when we produced the videos under the new brand.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The team at Notepad were excellent, their own excellent use of systems and processes meant they quickly able to diagnose the broad issues affecting the client and them through this process. Although the company had been around for a while they hadn't been through a process like this before. Notepad responded particularly well to a couple of issues that could have been problematic due to some stakeholders changing at a crucial point.  Solid project management of creative projects is what sets market leaders apart, and Notepad delivered brilliantly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It's says something that I've found myself on sales calls a couple of times and realised that what the client needs is a either a better understanding of their own brand, or a new brand entirely and I've ended up pushing our brief back and pulling Naeem and his team to do this essential ground work before we can do our own stuff. They just get it really quickly and distill that excellence into only what will make the client's business better.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Notepad Studio could have done differently?

I don't think there's anything they need to improve on. As a company that works in marketing but usually further down the value chain, we have a good understanding of other areas and have seemn this kind of work done badly in the past by other companies. But Notepad really do know what they're doing.
