OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Nearcode to accomplish?

• We had an older internal platform that had become difficult to maintain as our business expanded. Deployments were taking longer than expected, developers were spending too much time fixing issues in legacy code, and adding new functionality had become increasingly complicated. We hired Nearcode to help modernize parts of the application while improving our development workflow so future releases could be delivered more efficiently.

How many teammates from Nearcode were assigned to this project?

2-5 Employees

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The engagement started with a technical review of our existing application to identify the biggest maintenance challenges and areas that would benefit most from modernization. Rather than recommending a complete rebuild, Nearcode suggested an incremental approach that allowed us to continue supporting customers while gradually improving the platform. Their engineers helped refactor several core modules, reorganized parts of the application's architecture, and introduced a more reliable deployment process that reduced manual work for our development team. They also worked with us to improve code quality through peer reviews, documentation, and better testing practices before new features were released. Throughout the project, they collaborated closely with our in-house developers instead of working separately, which made the transition much smoother and ensured knowledge was shared along the way.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The platform became noticeably easier to maintain, and our development team was able to release updates with greater confidence. Deployment activities required less manual intervention, technical debt was reduced in several key areas, and we experienced fewer issues during software releases. The improvements also gave us a stronger foundation for future product development.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Nearcode was organized and easy to work with throughout the engagement. We had regular planning meetings, progress updates were clear, and any concerns we raised were addressed quickly. They were realistic about timelines and communicated openly whenever priorities changed.

How many teammates from Nearcode were assigned to this project?

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Nearcode reviewed our cloud infrastructure, authentication processes, API security, and application architecture to identify potential vulnerabilities and security gaps. They carried out security testing across several environments and documented findings according to risk level rather than simply listing technical issues. After presenting the assessment, they worked with our engineering team to prioritize remediation tasks, strengthen authentication policies, improve user permission management, and review secure development practices that could be incorporated into future releases. What we appreciated most was that every recommendation came with context and practical guidance rather than overly technical documentation that only security specialists could understand.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The engagement helped us strengthen several important areas of our security posture before launching new enterprise features. We also established clearer internal security procedures and gained confidence that our infrastructure was better prepared for future growth.
