SQL (sales qualified lead): A contact that meets the ideal client characteristics defined in the strategy and
has expressed enough interest in the product/service to move forward in the sales process. This could
mean setting up a discovery call, requesting a quote, signing an NDA, etc.

The market has been a bit slow. Therefore the number of leads has not been what any of us expected. But the partnership has been great and we keep moving forward

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of the investment advisory department at CINDE. We’re a Costa Rican investment promotion agency that promotes foreign direct investment into Costa Rica.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mutare?

We engaged them for their marketing services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mutare provided us with direct marketing, social media marketing, and lead generation; they also did social media enhancements and outreach services for us. They managed our LinkedIn platform to help create greater awareness for our organization. The team was responsible for calls to action to whoever they reached out to via our social media accounts. 

For email marketing, Mutare created email templates for us. Once we received responses from customers, the team helped us improve our replies to ensure we received a better reaction from our audience and potential clients. To automate some of the responses, they used Apollo. 

Meanwhile, for lead generation, they created a list of prospects that they could reach out to; they then made a script and messaging around our outreach efforts.

We found Mutare through a reference. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement lasted from January–October 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

For success metrics, Mutare provided us with an entire report about our progress. The results were quite remarkable in terms of the outreach’s details and how they turned them into potential leads. In fact, the team managed to schedule meetings for some of those leads with us. 

How did Mutare perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything was perfect. Mutare was completely on target when it came to meeting deadlines. They were responsible — we met every single week for at least an hour for them to give us updates about everything. 

Moreover, they had a dashboard that was accessible to us. We could see live information on how they were advancing in the project. It was an interactive dashboard, so we could filter the information and see what they were doing live. We reviewed the information every week. To communicate, we used video conference calls. 

Overall, we had a truly transparent and effective relationship with Mutare. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They had a gazillion strengths, but my favorite was their genuine commitment and excitement to be a part of our team. Even though they were contractors, they were committed to being felt as part of us. The team was receptive, flexible, and optimistic. Overall, they had a genuine interest in helping our work to come to fruition — it didn’t feel like they were just contractors. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They may be limited in people resources, and that could be a liability. If somebody was sick or experiencing things of that nature, they should have more resources. If someone leaves the company, it might be difficult for them to accommodate clients. Given that, they should have a bit more redundancy.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate with Andres. He’s a visionary, and you should engage him and make him part of your follow-up process. He’s committed to doing that.

I’m a department head at a company working in various industries, primarily automotive, industrial automation, and IoT. In my role, I’m responsible for the commercial head of a service division that does outsourcing and offshoring consulting.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mutare?

We don’t do a lot of direct advertising to our prospective customers, so we were looking to work with a third party that could drive more awareness for our brand in the market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mutare provides us with outreach marketing services through LinkedIn. Initially, we gave them briefings and insights and developed marketable content. We’ve created most of the content, and Mutare works on the execution side. 

They’ve developed strategies for two segments of the market; the automotive and the IoT side. Mutare’s main task is identifying target audiences for our offerings and organizing meetings with interested parties through LinkedIn campaigns. They also reach out to prospects through email.

We work with two teammates from Mutare.

We spend $10,000–$15,000 a month with Mutare. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around September 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Mutare does a great job for us — I’d recommend them to others. We measure Mutare’s success based on the number of meetings they organize and whether these meetings are with the right parties. The quantity of meetings is good, though the quality could always be improved. 

How did Mutare perform from a project management standpoint?

They deliver on time and on budget. Our communication is good; we meet once a week to go through all the relevant topics, and they’re responsive. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mutare is very creative, upbeat, and focused, which I like. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could use other social media platforms and more specialized forums for outreach. LinkedIn’s pool of prospects is limited, and we’d like to reach decision-makers with higher levels of responsibility. Mutare could only find these prospects in specialized forums. However, those are more closed audiences. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In the end, success will depend on choosing the right focus area. Drive as much content and specifications around your objectives as possible, and give Mutare a good briefing. They’re a good insider into the LinkedIn space.

We have discoveries with all our clients, sometimes we create playbooks for them. We come up with budgets, creative, strategy etc for them. We set up their accounts and have monthly call for content review and reporting.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

All the linkedin campaigns they have done thus far have been very successful and all the clients are super happy with the creative and performance

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It is very effective- we have weekly marketing meetings, they are on our slack system so anytime we have a question it is super easy to get answers and they are in our project management system

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They meet deadlines, very hands on and accommodating and have worked within all our systems perfectly.
