They helped us with the design phase, balancing many different requirements to service our existing and prospective customers. Moving forward, memcrab did the actual website build and developed reporting metrics to monitor performance post-launch.

They started with an analysis of our competitors’ websites, investigating their organizational plans, and then customizing them to fit our sales and operations processes.

We built the site with a look similar to the major players in the industry, where people can look at a feed of homes that they might be interested in. We also made specific updates to our site that allowed existing customers to follow their homes through the sales process. memcrab also created links to our property management portals.

We worked through Figma a lot, as well as Salesforce. They also integrated an MLS data feed (a real estate data solution). memcrab has managed to extract data from the website and give it to our sales team.

Our active users have increased 4–5 times over, and monthly users are converting at a 50% higher pace than they were previously.

We’ve worked with a couple of other website builders before, and memcrab does a much better job of customer service than the others, and a much better job on delivering the actual product. Our relationship has been very collaborative, and even in the midst of a global pandemic, the team has been able to deliver on time and within the budget. They use Basecamp and we use a different tool internally called Wrike. 

When we asked them to switch to our learning tool, they had a slight learning curve but they were happy to do it. We communicate with the team daily and have weekly recaps. It’s been fantastic.

• We wanted to create new telephony-related products for the business space. In particular, we required frontend resources that would allow us to build and scale these new products more quickly, with higher quality and more features. We already had a high-functioning engineering team, but it was small. We didn't have enough resources to pull off the product development we wanted. Therefore, we were looking specifically for React developers that were good with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Figma for the design components.

We’ve done many projects with Memcrab Group. In particular, we’ve worked with them on three main products and deployed one of them. First, we’ve done a web RTC softphone, which is actually a software development kit (SDK) that can be embedded into other applications. It provides state-of-the-art softphone functionality for our users and includes an address book, contacts, call history, SMS and MMS text messaging, and probably one of the best call center phone functionality available on desktops.

Also, we’ve done a mobile version of that application; it’s nearly complete. Finally, we’re in the process of building an entirely new telecommunications platform with Memcrab Group. For these projects, the combined effort includes both their resources and the resources on our side. However, they’ve done nearly 100% of the user-facing frontend work

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The work they do is beautiful. It’s well-conceived, well-designed, and well-implemented. These are by far the best products we’ve ever delivered to customers. Also, Mumcrab Group has delivered reasonably quickly. We’ve never met anyone in software who has overestimated the time they need, but they’ve been good at measuring how long it’ll take to complete something.

They do code reviews among themselves and are very committed to their work. They frequently come up with ideas, questions, concerns, and comments to improve the product. They’re genuinely wonderful partners. Overall, they’ve allowed us to compete with much larger companies. We wouldn’t be able to do this without them.

Occasionally, there are some language and time zone challenges. However, it’s expected because we’re outsourcing resources that are eight hours ahead and speak a different language as their native tongue. In general, those issues have only been a minor annoyance.

One of their most wonderful traits is that they all work together as a team. Moreover, this is the first time we’ve been part of a successful outsourcing project. When we’ve been involved with other companies, it’s always been a painful and disappointing experience. However, this has been a spectacular outsourcing endeavor.

I wouldn’t level any complaints that aren’t broadly applicable to other software development resources. Practically every staff person in software development underestimates how long a task will take, and they aren’t different in this regard. Nonetheless, I wouldn’t criticize them on that note because I’m also a software engineer, and I also do it.
