I’m the product owner at FlexiFin, a company in the financial sector. I manage our development efforts. We offer standard non-banking loans to people.

What challenge were you trying to address with MeguMethod?

We needed to implement our mobile application for iOS and Android.

What was the scope of their involvement?

MeguMethod built our mobile app from scratch. The team did everything themselves, including the design work. We just helped with the business analysis end of things. Moreover, we used the team's UX and UI experts for our web applications.

The app could be described as a standard application for having an account, so it didn't have many special features. The team focused on making the UX and UI seamless and easy.

For technologies, MeguMethod used native development (Kotlin + Swift) and GraphQL. The team also provided us with a middleware developer, who kept working with us since we had more things we wanted to do.

What is the team composition?

I was in contact with the whole team, including a product manager, a designer, a solution architect, two Android developers, two iOS developers, a QA specialist, and a middleware developer.

We had a standard procedure for getting a vendor, and MeguMethod won the tender.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $500,000 on the first phase of the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from October 2023–May 2024.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project plan wasn’t 100% right, but everything was done great. We had a backlog and tickets for the whole phase, and everything was promptly completed. The team handled the app's UX/UI design nicely. Overall, the application was finished, and we had a happy engagement working with MeguMethod. We're still working with them, in fact.

How did MeguMethod perform from a project management standpoint?

They stayed on budget. However, the deadlines were tricky because we had a different team for the backend, and sometimes, we blocked MeguMethod with the backend features. Nonetheless, around 90% of the deadlines were met.

We used Jira across the whole company and communicated via Google Meet, tickets, and Excel sheets.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We clicked in every possible way. MeguMethod was a small company, but they were dedicated to their work. We’re a startup, and they met us there. The team members are mostly senior people, and that’s why we clicked.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had some team members change, which is normal in the industry. It's always good to have the same people for a longer period of time, but it wasn’t their fault. I couldn't hold it against MeguMethod.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open to what they’re suggesting and look at it from their side.

The goal was to refresh the app design to keep up with high student expectations, as well as refactor the code to raise the sustainability and scalability of the project. The new ISIC mobile app with the digital card is an important step to increasing the number of valid cardholders worldwide and stay relevant in the student segment.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The application has got a modern look and enhanced the UX level for users. Users' personal data and card numbers can be found on the card together with the card validity. The app includes security elements like the animated hologram, running timestamp, QR code for verification or the prevention of screenshot to provide the necessary level of security and credibility. The new application has 274K monthly active users.

We used their project management tool to track project progress . The project got slightly delayed due to higher amount of work than originally accepted but they managed to meet all our requirements.

They were able to transform all our ideas into beautiful clickable prototype that we could verify with users before the actual development and than successfully implement it within the budget we had for the project.

The app they've delivered has met all our expectations, and we continue working with them on new features and further improvements.

I’m the manager of digitalization for the B2C segment of CPP, an insurance company. We’re part of the Vienna Insurance Group.

What challenge were you trying to address with MeguMethod?

We needed help with the prototype development of a mobile app. Our customers could only access our services through desktop, but we knew that by 2025, customers would want to reach us through mobile applications. Almost 50% of our current traffic came from mobile, but we didn’t have a mobile app.

Given that mobile apps are expensive and that we didn’t have the skills to build one internally, we needed another company to help us. I thought it would be a great step, so we started looking for someone to help us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

MeguMethod created a mobile app prototype for iOS and Android. On top of the web layer, they included 13 exclusive, almost fully functional prototype functions.

At first, we weren’t sure what scope should the new cases have. The team did a brief workshop for us, and we all devised the 13 new cases together. They sent me links to download the products, and I could download them to my iPhone through TestFlight. These functions would allow the user to upload pictures, measure the cracks in the walls, and share the GPS location of an accident so it might relay information to users or sponsors.

We went through further app development because I needed to reshape some ideas. After that, we exchanged details and feedback.

We worked with five people, including the CEO, a project manager, an iOS developer, an Android developer, and a UX manager.

How did you come to work with MeguMethod?

I knew them from LinkedIn. MeguMethod was quite active in posting reviews. One day, I asked my friend to recommend some developers who could create materials that I could later share with my decision-makers. He recommended MeguMethod. I remembered their logo because it was unique and easy to remember, so I contacted them.

I was interested in their knowledge because I wasn’t aware of what was possible with prototypes. I thought it would be static pictures, but they corrected me and said we could do almost fully functional prototypes. They showed me some of their prototypes for other clients, and I was very interested. Then, we started negotiating the project's scope and price.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than €10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June–December 2024.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

MeguMethod worked on the defined cases and successfully created prototype functions until we had multiple mobile app versions. We’re currently testing the prototype on our clients to see if they’re interested. Overall, the team was great; they helped us navigate the prototype's possibilities, made all requested changes, and delivered a nice, responsive design.

It wasn’t just the 13 use cases that were implemented in the prototype. The team could connect it to our current customer zone. MeguMethod even included a responsive version of our product in the mobile app.

The prototype helped us get approval to work on the mobile app in 2025. I showed it to multiple colleagues from various departments, and they were able to see the use cases. They were crucial in bringing to life the processes behind the mobile app, such as the claim report.

When I showed it to our director of claim handlers, he was against it initially because he didn’t see the benefit in the desktop version. However, he was bought when he saw the possibility of sharing the metadata of the picture of the location and measuring the crack in the wall, which would help our insurance purposes. He and multiple colleagues supported our decision to have an iOS application.

How did MeguMethod perform from a project management standpoint?

Since they developed everything from scratch, we were patient with their timelines. In the end, they met our deadlines and stayed on budget. They shared their management system through the screen, but we exclusively communicated through email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed by their awareness and expertise regarding prototype functionality, as well as their pricing. In that sense, I thought we could only make a static version of a wireframe on Figma, but I wasn’t aware that they could do a fully functional prototype. MeguMethod could play with the app's behavior and graphics; that was impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there wasn’t anything of note. I’ve done eight mobile apps throughout my career, and I thought I knew everything, so I tried to steer them. However, there wasn't any need.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Keep the scope and recommendations up to them. MeguMethod knows the possibilities, the technology, and what the client or user needs or wants, so take that into account.

The project was long running support and introduction of new features to our iOS and Android native apps. Both used the standard tech stack.

Our porducts allow customers to control their heating and cooling through our apps. On top of that, we provide a lot of insights into their heating systems and consumpation data.

We work iteratively, with a focus on delivering value to our customers as fast as possible. Hence, we had a weekly app release cadence.

Most importantly, we had timely and quality weekly deliverables, in line with our timelines and budget. 

What further improved the work outcomes, is the willingness of the Megumethod guys to fully embrace and follow our product development process.

Project management was executed by our in-hosue team leads, and feedback on the Megumethod teammates was consistently positive. Their delivery was on time.

Their project management was very effective. They communicated quickly via Slack, were punctual in meetings, and always respected our needs. Even when requests were outside the initial scope, they were accommodating. The collaboration was a barter arrangement due to the non-profit nature of TEDxPrague, and the supplier provided services as a partnership. Initially, the project’s scope was underestimated, requiring an extension of one to two months, but this was easily resolved.

A decision was made to replace an old self-service portal framework with sizable technical debt. We worked using new and modern technologies - React and .Net, adhering to highest levels of security standards in the tightly regulated financial industry.

The new, mobile-first, client self-service portal recorded 54K+ registered users in first 6 months of operations.

We had high levels of alignment from the start. We created a habit of having a weekly check-in call and this proved highly valuable. I knew I could rely on the delivery and not have to drive and micro-manage it.

The aim of the project was to create a web configurator for the upcoming security system. It is a configurator for the internal usage, especially for the validation and testing.

We were looking for a young and progresive company with a creative and modern approach, which can develop a complete solution enriched by own ideas and know-how even with a minimal assignment. Synetech reached an excellent rating and convinced us of its quality during the first project meeting.

We started with a "native-mobile" app where the RWD webpages were included in the webview. In the next steps, some important parts were redeveloped in the android/iOS platform. We automate accounting processes and we needed a mobile application for scanning and uploading paper documents that are created in the field (restaurants, etc.) by managers or sales reps. Users also have to have the possibility to choose organization, folder, controlling objects and comment. After filling of those fields the data are sending through API to our platform wflow.com

We selected 3 companies i knew from networking to tender. The most important criterias for choose were

3) cost estimation. And also my trust to their CEO I knew from networking was the last reason.

We had a meeting where we discussed the goal of the project and our expectations. Another meeting Synetech had with our dev team because was necessary to interconnected via API to our platform including data synchronization. Both iOS & Android. They also propose to develop special feature "edge detection" after scanning of paper documents which was appreciated from our side. The proposal of the grafic design of the mobile app was also part of project.

A projectmanager was assigned to be our main contact during the project. My dev team leaders communicated with their dev team leaders and also with their project manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

All people using the app are satisfied including myself :-) If we will decide to develop mobile app for approval workflow which is one of the main part/feature of our wflow.com platform we will definitely ask Synetech for cooperation.

Their project manager was managing the project incl. planning of all calls, meeting, updates, testing etc. Communication was via e-mail and phone. The result was delivered on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I expected ( and also it was reason we choosed them) that we received mobile app for both platform on time. But I was curios how the "edge detecion" feature will be work in real life. And I am glad that the full success rate is about 90% of this feature. The remaining 10% can be adjusted manually.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Everything was based on the plan. There was no problem so I could not find any area for improvement... Moreover they actively helped us with lunch of the app to app store and google play.
