I'm the co-founder and CTO of Fishinda which is an international digital platform for anglers. We operate a smartphone application and a marketplace.

We started to design and develop Fishinda Marketplace in 2018 so we were looking for the best team which is able to make it for us. Our goal was to launch the marketplace in 2019 and be able to offer multiple vendors' products to our community. The next step was to grow this marketplace to an international platform.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We talked to a few agencies about our project and Make IT was the highest qualified. They had a big experience in webshop development and had the most accurate questions at the first meeting. Their introduction was convincing, they know how to manage a project as big as ours.

Communication with them was very easy so we knew we can trust them and can give our project's future in their hands.

They designed and developed a Symfony based webshop which is a multivendor marketplace. We use a ticketing system to manage tasks so we can follow who is responsible for which task. They started with the backend. The first version was ready after 6 months then they started to build the frontend which went easy.

They implemented all the changes we asked in a very short time. Everything went smooth and easy.

There were 4 members from the core team - project manager, 2 senior developers and 1 front-end developer

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to launch the project as we planned. We've had more than 6K orders since the launch. All the bugs were fixed in a very short time so the customers are satisfied.

We had direct access to the whole team so it was easy to communicate our ideas.

In 2016, I was the IT project manager for a firm that worked with Make IT Online. Currently, I'm self-employed as a freelancer.

We hired Make IT Online to help us develop a web application.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Make IT Online helped us develop a web application. They were in charge of front- and backend development. They used PHP and Angular to build the app and provided technical support as needed.

The solution is a learning management platform that’s used to sell leadership training programs to multinational companies.

What is the team composition?

We were mostly in contact with their project manager.

How did you come to work with Make IT Online?

I met them through a recommendation from a friend.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent close to $12,000 on the project.

What is the status of the engagement?

We worked with Make IT Online on the project from June 2016–December 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

There was an increase in user activity and feedback, and we had fewer technical issues. From a selling perspective, it was hard to tell if the results were directly caused by Make IT Online’s efforts because selling goes through a very different channel.

How did Make IT Online perform from a project management standpoint?

They met our deadlines and stayed within budget. Moreover, they were highly knowledgeable about IT, and their project manager was very open. They were also great with communication. We communicate through email and phone calls. For managing tasks, we used Trello.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had a very creative collaboration with Make IT Online.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve hired more developers, but we were still satisfied with their work.

Any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to complete the first phase of collaboration, where you sit down and work out the whole concept on paper together with Make IT Online. Also, you should learn how to be patient with IT development.

Through Hungarian Communication agency.

We had meetings and workshops to describe the needs of the company and our customers. They helped us in planning phase. With the design we had to implement two companies corporate design and they supported us well. They made the site build, programming, Front-end, Back-end, Testing and Bug fix. This is an own developed website according to our needs.

We worked with two persons the CEO and CTO.

We generate leads from the website. The interactive map is very effective and shows the proving ground properly. The virtual tour of the event center really helpful for our customers to plan event at our venue.

The communication went well. We always agreed on tasks and development times/prices and deadlines. They took everything really serious and had always time for us, if we had any issue.

The are very good in problem-solving and handling urgent tasks.

The goal was to create the parent company's website in Hungarian, which was successfully completed.

The task was to develop a unique analytics platform together with Make IT.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

For the development of our custom solution, we were looking for a partner who could do the development and was willing to develop custom solutions because we felt that the standard solutions were not suitable.

We developed a custom map module, charts and an online video player that can play video from the computer and synchronise the image with the data.

There were one project manager and one full stack developer.

The full project is not online yet, but those who have used it so far have been very happy.
