Mainsoft's project management approach has been highly professional and adaptive, which has been crucial to the success of our collaboration. They have effectively delivered project items on time, with the only exceptions occurring when there were significant changes to project specifications initiated by our team. These specification changes naturally impacted the original timelines.
Overall, their commitment to meeting deadlines and their flexibility in response to our requirements have demonstrated a strong capability in project management and customer service.

What we find most impressive about Mainsoft is their exceptional professional management and scalability. Their lead developer has consistently ensured that the team operates efficiently, maintains high standards, and integrates well with our internal processes.
Moreover, Mainsoft’s ability to scale the team swiftly is particularly noteworthy. Whenever we've needed to expand our team, they have consistently been able to onboard new, highly skilled professionals within a very tight timeframe, often less than a month. This agility in scaling has been crucial in maintaining our project momentum and adapting to evolving requirements without compromising on quality.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Mainsoft could have done differently?

Our collaboration has been very successful. Initially, there were some challenges with communication which are common in projects of this complexity. However, through open and constructive discussions, we addressed these early concerns effectively.
We expressed our preferences clearly, and Mainsoft was responsive in adapting their processes, which has led to significant improvements in communication. This has ensured that all subsequent phases of the project have met our expectations.
Now, everything is functioning well, and while there is always room for minor enhancements in any project, the proactive approach taken by both sides has smoothed out earlier issues. We were able to launch the MVP on time due to the help of Mainsoft. After MVP launch we are able to continously ship new features with high quality.

We communicate using our internal Slack, Teams and JIRA. Communication was fast and effective.

We had direct access to the developer which offers fast & transparent communication. Their communication and understanding skills are superb. Our account manager is always trying to find the best solution for us in case we have questions.

We were looking for developers and received indication from another known partner. Mainsoft quickly understood the needs of our company and projects and was able to offer the resources we were looking for.

We hired Mainsoft to develop a custom software to build our venture related to climate data platform. Our goal was to build a minimum viable product in the span of 4 months window. We document all the requirements before starting the project. A part of project was already developed along with architecture.

The scope of the work was to build a minimum viable product in 4 months timeline. The details of MVP requirement was documented using atlassian and was ready before the start of the project. We followed the scrum methodology. The project was broken down in 7 sprints of 2 weeks each. Each sprint was planned with JIRA tickets using agile methodology.

Each ticket was estimated and tracked. The key deliverables were the developed pieces which were tested on a daily basis as developed. All pieces were developed and delivered right on time. The key technologies that were used in this project were:

• AWS for deployment

We are very happy with the quality and timeline. All three parameter of the project were right on spot. i.e. Scope, Cost and time.

The project management was great and we could manage the project on time and cost because of efficient project management. All the team members took up roles and responsibility and delivered. We communicated through Zoom, Slack most of the time.

We had direct access to the whole team and the team was approachable and flexible at the same time. They are a professional team of developers who contributed in every possible way.

Two small things .

1. Documentation
2. Improve communication skills which is a global language in the software industry.

I’m a co-founder of NearCHAO. We’ve developed a special platform that allows users to buy goods from vending machines via a mobile app.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Mainsoft?

We needed an app that could identify and communicate with vending machines based on proximity, and we hired Mainsoft to develop it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mainsoft developed our Android app and implemented iBeacon technology, which uses Bluetooth to identify the vending machine a user wants to make a purchase from. This initiates a session between the mobile app and vending machine. After each purchase, the user gets loyalty discounts.

We don’t have tech people on our side to decide on technical matters, so Mainsoft handles this. The team from Mainsoft resolves issues by themselves about what technology they should use. Our team creates tasks in Jira, which are more about the business aspects.

What is the team composition?

I think there are five people on their team. I am always in contact with their project manager.

How much have you invested with them?

The total has been $10,000–$20,000, or a bit more.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Mainsoft in the autumn of 2017, and it’s ongoing. The app just launched in January 2020. I’ve just sent them new tasks via Jira to develop.

We started with one idea, and we changed it again and again. The people from Mainsoft were always with us and developed all of our requirements.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app turned out really well, and we’ve been using it with about 100 vending machines in Moscow. Users are happy. Mainsoft’s code is extremely good, without a lot of bugs. We have a high level of stability and quality.

How did Mainsoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve performed well. We invited Mainsoft’s developers to use our Jira account. We’ve used Jira and the help of their project manager to manage their work. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked with another company for iOS development. Compared to them, Mainsoft resolves issues very quickly and does it with a high level of quality. There aren’t a lot of bugs in their code, and my QA team doesn’t spend a lot of time testing it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They have very good quality and they resolve issues very fast. I sent them three tasks this morning, and they returned the tasks to me this evening for testing. I was very happy about that.

We work on time and materials, so all bugs and change requests are billed to the project. When I checked how much money I’d spent with them, I found that it wasn’t a lot. This means that there aren’t a lot of bugs, issues, or change requests.
