The team digested that information and came back with some briefs and ideas. I put all that stuff together and gave them more feedback on the direction we wanted to go. From there, LumexArt Studio iterated on the designs.

LumexArt Studio was quite structured and organized in the process they went about. Their designs were really creative and good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

LumexArt Studio didn't have experience in our specific line of work. We had to go back and forth on some of the imagery they provided because we needed to explain the use case and how it worked. However, this was expected since they hadn't done much work in our space.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear on the outputs you want. LumexArt Studio is responsive, so if you need to provide feedback, make sure to do so clearly and on time.

The scope of work for the UI/UX designer involved creating a mobile-first application specifically designed for acting students and coaches. The project began with the designer developing low-fidelity wireframes that outlined the app's structure and layout. This allowed for early feedback and adjustments before moving on to more detailed designs. Once the wireframes were approved, the designer created high-fidelity mockups using Figma, integrating color schemes, typography, and interactive components. Additionally, the designer created an interactive prototype in Figma that simulated user interactions and workflows within the application.

What challenge were you trying to address with LumexArt Studio?

We needed a designer and developer to create our website and marketing collateral. We were looking for a one-stop shop that could handle both design and development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

LumexArt Studio has designed and developed our website and marketing collateral, including PDFs and PowerPoint presentations. The team has created a few pages, integration models, and add-ons using Webflow and Figma. The website is for lead generation and conversion, and users can read our blog and learn about our features.

LumexArt Studio also provides maintenance services.

We work with a designer and account manager, and a developer.

How did you come to work with LumexArt Studio?

We found LumexArt Studio on Upwork. They have good reviews, and we decided to move from working with a single person to working with the agency.

Our development changes from month to month, but overall we’ve spent around $20,000.

We started working together in November 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had a lot of problems with speed on the website, and it’s now much faster. The team has minified CSS, compressed images, and done all kinds of things to lower the load time and increase the conversion rate. They’ve also created templates that reduce the time it takes to create marketing collateral. We don’t need to send it to redesign; we just fill out a form, and it creates the design.

How did LumexArt Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is very responsive. We had some problems with responsiveness with our previous outsourcers because we had different time zones, but LumexArt Studio is very responsive. If someone is on vacation, they have someone to take their place, and they’ve already told them about the project and ongoing things. I don’t have to worry about that, and for me as a manager, it’s a huge concern when someone isn’t filling a position in your process.

The budget varies because it took us a while to understand how to quote things properly. Now, every time I start a project with them, I ask for an ETA and a cost, and I haven’t had any problems so far. We use Zoho for project management and Slack and Google Meet for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communicative skills are impressive. They understand what we’re telling them. There’s a big problem with outsourcing; a lot of times, they say they understand but are afraid to ask follow-up questions. LumexArt Studio communicates and asks tough questions; they’re not afraid to ask questions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would help them if they understood a little more about the marketing department’s work. When we need a certain creative for a campaign, we need to tell them what we need. I’m not saying that others didn’t ask; everybody asked if they understood it. It would be a bit easier, but that’s the only thing I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear. They ask questions, but if you’re clear with communication, it helps. I always write them the tasks because there’s a reference when you write something. I’d say to write clear tasks and ask for an ETA; they’ll give you one, and they’re usually spot on. It helps you plan your budget a little bit better.
