Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The objective of this project was to develop customized Warehouse Management Software (WMS) to replace our legacy WMS that was end of life and end of support. The new WMS system had to keep response times under 500 ms for user queries and accuracy levels at 100% for inventory levels and order picking from an inventory containing 5,000+ individual SKUs.  Print and other services also needed to pass a 99.9% accuracy requirement. 

We required an easy to use UI framework to ensure future changes or additions to the system could be managed by internal staff and avoid costly ongoing development work (which was the case in our legacy environment). 

Additionally, the legacy environment had grown in complexity over 10+ years of use and had not been managed properly by the previous development partner. As a result the database architecture was a mess resulting in very slow response times impacting production and client partners.

The new WMS also needed to integrate with a number of print solutions that we use internally, including email campaigns. Each print channel had different requirements for communication and templating. As template management had been a bottleneck in the previous system we developed a completely custom and easy to use framework in the new WMS.

Lastly, we needed to future proof the new WMS to allow for client driven customization without worrying about extensive, lengthy and expensive future development costs. As a result we worked with our new development partner to ensure that the new WMS had the level of customization and flexibility built-in from the start to avoid these issues.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

During the development cycle we worked with LP Cloud Lab to break down the project into core components. We then reviewed and evaluated each core component, set their priorities & deadlines and performed development sprints to complete each phase. 

Our main KPI was on-time delivery of each phase and proper functionality both in the backend and also end user UX. 

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Communication was very good with the team. We established pre-scheduled formal virtual meetings to support the project and also had multiple communication points with the team through messangers, texting, and email. 

LP Cloud Lab team did a great job of asking for clarification on priorities and acted very quickly on any action items provided to them. The team was excellent at wanting to know the 'why' behind requests so that they could build out the changes holistically across all touch points.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team really cared about the success of this project and seeing the positive impacts it had on our organization. The level of commitment to ensuring our needs were met was world class. 

The teams ability to take requests and action on them very quickly was also impressive. It was not uncommon to push forward change requests that would be reported as completed and ready for our review within 24 hours.
