Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a software company that’s heavily invested in life sciences. Our focus is on the pharma and chemical industry. We provide systems for R&D and manufacturing, such as Electronic Lab Notebook and Manufacturing Education Systems. We’ve been this doing for some time, but the company has taken a dip because our earlier focus was different, and now we’ve moved into the chemistry space.

Today, we serve all kinds of customers, ranging from Pfizer and AstraZeneca to small local companies. We’re based out of Bangalore.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Lioonnize?

When I joined the company last year, it was struggling because it was being driven by old practices. Since they were very successful earlier, they decided not to change anything. However, I realized that we didn’t have enough of an online presence for our target audience. Our appearance was non-existent because somebody internally had developed the website, and it looked like a school project support.

We wanted to find a partner to help us with our website first and then create an interactive system for the market. We wanted visitors to be able to book an appointment and potential employees to apply to our vacant positions. In the last year, the employee turnover was very high — we lost and recruited many people.

Therefore, one of the major priorities was visually representing what we do so our website visitors don’t have to read everything. Our second priority was doing SEO. Finally, our third priority was connecting the backend and all the leads to our salespeople, as well as the resumes for HR.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lioonnize did web and backend development, UI/UX design, and SEO. They did everything from scratch. All the illustrations and elements of the website followed the same theme, and they custom-created them so we didn’t have to buy images or illustrations.

Additionally, they provided content creation and helped us structure it in a way that wasn’t repetitive. We gave them pages of content, and they refined them into short paragraphs.

What is the team composition?

We directly worked with six people, and their founder was involved most of the time. Two people specifically worked on the illustrations, and another two were on design. We also had a backend developer to handle the backed work and integration with our sales and HR platforms and someone working specifically on SEO and content.

How did you come to work with Lioonnize?

We searched online quite a bit. Several vendors claimed that they could deliver in a month or so. On the other hand, we heard Lioonnize’s pitch and explained how we wanted to showcase our story. We asked them to produce an example. They came back with it about a week later, and that convinced us to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested a little over $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2020, and the website went live in March 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had both qualitative and quantitative assessments. From a quantitative point of view, we went from having about five visitors per month to roughly 12 visitors a day. On a more qualitative note, visitors showed interest and reached out, which was very important to us.

If we have visitors, it means that we have good SEO, but if we have interested people contacting us, we have the right content and message on our website. Therefore, we’re pretty happy with the results we’re seeing.

How did Lioonnize perform from a project management standpoint?

When we started, our budget wasn’t high. We knew that if we’d done this in-house, it would’ve taken much longer. Lionnize’s turnaround was much faster. Also, they added a lot of value to the product. It grew, and we added animation and images to each section. 

Their communication was alright; we didn’t have any issues. We only used a tracking tool for the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team went beyond their job. They followed their passion and created products that represented us adequately. Their creativity set them apart, and they truly delivered with passion. All in all, their strength was that they took all the input correctly, but they’d still surprise us with their interpretation of our idea.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we shared our vision for something, they’d always present something a little bit different. They admitted to it being different, but it’d also better represent what we were saying. Nonetheless, they wanted us to succeed and be happy with their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them all of your thoughts and ideas, no matter if they’re connected or not. Let them digest it all. Lioonnize has a knack for detail, so it’ll work best for them.

I’m the president of Detroit Management Consulting, LLC. We provide consulting services to the automotive sector.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lioonnize?

We needed someone to develop and design a new website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we collaborated with Lioonnize to develop a plan for the website with layout, description, graphics, information, and so on. Then, we reviewed samples to work on the design.

Lioonnize developed and designed the website. We provided some of the content, but they researched and provided photographs and animation, giving us the rights. Also, their writer put the story together and rewrote it in sequences.

Once it was ready, we did general and detailed reviews of the website, including specific aspects like grammar. Then, we tested the site for ease of use and speed. They optimized the site to increase speed and finalized the website and its mobile-friendly version.

The website had animations related to automotive, including dynamics. The animations and content are linked together for storytelling from beginning to end. They help users understand the entire concept of what we do, what we provide, and how we can help them.

Lioonnize also did SEO, and they’re currently providing maintenance.

What is the team composition?

We interacted with three people: a project lead, a writer, and a designer. However, programmers were working behind the scenes as well.

How did you come to work with Lioonnize?

Initially, we were working with a different designer, but we were dissatisfied. We searched for designers online and found Lioonnize’s team. We loved the work we saw on their website, so we decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in July 2021, and the website was delivered in August 2021. However, they’re still working on maintenance.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Even though the site only went live a week ago, we’ve already seen a tremendous difference. We show good traffic and response, and speed and mobile access are good. Additionally, we’ve had great feedback.

How did Lioonnize perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well and showed flexibility and adaptability with changes in timelines. They communicated during reviews, so we clearly understood what we were working on and the entire process.

We communicated via phone, WhatsApp, and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They listened to us and wanted to understand our expectations. They proposed how things should look from their perspective and specialties. Overall, this experience was much better than the ones we’ve had with previous designers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although the writer spoke English pretty well, there were times when written English needed to be corrected to American English. There’s room for improvement in this area.

They’re trustworthy and will put their heart and soul into the work for you.
