I’m the president of eSano Communications Inc. We work with new car dealerships and their manufacturers to receive, manage, and nurture their digital leads up to a final sale. We do the same thing on the service side of the business, handling anything to do with appointments and booking appointments for the service at the dealerships.

What challenge were you trying to address with Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd.?

Our business was growing, and we wanted to improve our processes by moving from using Microsoft Word templates and email to a customized CRM.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

At the start of the project, we had a Zoom call to show them the current state and a description of the CRM we wanted to move to. We also provided them with industry standards so we could comply with the way manufacturers handled leads in the automotive industry. Everything was outlined in a document in an XML format known as AtlaBase Format.

Then, Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. provided us with recommendations on what would be appropriate, not just in terms of technical requirements, but also for our budget. We settled on using Odoo. They customized the open-source CRM to fit our specifications. Using Odoo, Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. created several websites and set up our project management and email marketing efforts — they even added a component for SMS marketing using Twilio, which we use to run our call center.  

Now, to continue to cultivate leads, Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. is creating a SaaS product that will allow us to create multiple websites with different domain names. All leads to those sites will come from the customized CRM. They’re also updating the ERP tied to the CRM from version 15 to 16, migrating to the community version of the ERP.

The CRM component of the website is where the bulk of end clients interact with our customers’ services. Those end clients can enter their contact information, including their zip codes, which is then sent to a dealer. We receive that information via our CRM and handle lead cultivation; the dealers can oversee the entire process. We can interact with end clients through emails and text messages — Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. is working in Python to facilitate voice communication.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve started generating leads because of this partnership. Before we started working with Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd., I had one customer and was the sole employee. We soon scaled up to 13 customers and five employees, although that growth scaled back during the COVID-19 pandemic to eight customers and six employees. Our monthly recurring revenue jumped from $1,400 to $20,000.

The new ERP is extremely scalable — we can facilitate 100 to 1,000 on the infrastructure Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. has built. However, we’ve run into a slight problem with our manufacturing customers, who don’t have enough stock to support our improvements. When things pick up again, the sky is the limit with the technology Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. has created.

We communicate through email, Zoom, and WhatsApp. I appreciate that their team is accessible — we can call them anytime. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, they were flexible with the adjustments I needed to make regarding office closures.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. looks out for our interests, continuing to build a relationship with us. They don’t charge us for asking a lot of questions or scheduling copious meetings to ensure that we understand the entire project.

Be as specific as you can about what you want — the more information you can give them about your specific challenges, the better they can execute what you want.

Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. provides us with web development and design services. Initially, we held a discovery phase, during which we showed them our existing website and explained what things we wanted to be removed, adjusted, and added to our site. They then came back with recommendations as to what technologies we should use and helped us implement them. For instance, they recommended migrating from WordPress to Webflow, which is more customizable.

We’re also planning to have their team build a CRM system that would allow us to convert site visits into forms.

Also, spend a lot of time explaining your ideas to their designers so that you won’t be dissatisfied with the translation of your website’s design.

What challenge were you trying to address with Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd.?

We needed help developing our CRM and ERP, so we engaged Linescripts.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Linescripts has helped us with many software and infrastructure projects since initially engaging them to help with our ERP and CRM. First, they set up our CRM and ERP, which they custom-designed and developed. Then, they linked the new systems to our website and portal. They also created custom code to automate posts for our blog and social media pages. The custom code also enabled the system to automate teleprompter reports.  

During the software development process, they noticed areas for improvement within our overarching software infrastructure. Once the Linescripts team delivered on our initial asks, they showed us how to improve our processes through additional software development initiatives. For example, we were using Quickbooks to quote donors and sponsors, Google Workspace for notes, and  Slack for internal communication. Furthermore, we used a teleprompter software and Google Docs to construct our TV show structures. 

The team walked us through a demonstration for Odoo, focusing on our TV-specific needs, such as story-writing and graphic design. They showed us how Odoo could automate these processes and help us manage our projects, and we decided to move forward. 

Since introducing us to Odoo, the team has been working on automating the remainder of our processes to maximize our efficiency. For example, they’ve shifted our internal communication from Slack to Odoo chat. We also have them on retainer for monthly maintenance and customer support. Whenever we have a new volunteer, Linescripts trains them on the system.

We’ve worked with four team members: a coder, project manager, graphic designer, and coding supervisor.

We found Linescripts on Upwork, and they had solid reviews and competitive pricing. Their salesperson was very knowledgeable and asked all the right questions, which made me confident that they could overhaul and consolidate our ERP and CRM within our desired time frame.

We invested $25,000 for phase one. Since completing the bulk of the project, we’ve spent $10,000–$15,000 per month, depending on the milestones. In total, we’ve invested about $145,000 in the partnership with Linescripts.

We started working with Linescripts in January 2021, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measure success based on their ability to deliver bug-free features within our agreed-upon budget. Linescripts has delivered everything on time and on budget, and we haven’t encountered any bugs. They’ve automated so many of our tasks that we’ve had to shift responsibilities for four internal teammates.

How did Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

While we were working on the major project scope, Linescripts communicated with us regularly via email. We also met with the project manager and coder weekly via Google Meet and Zoom. The coding supervisor conducted QA testing before anything went live, ensuring we didn’t face any hiccups. The team consistently met milestones, and the only milestone we missed resulted from our internal team. Now that they’ve completed the bulk of the project, we meet monthly. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Linescripts is goal-oriented, whereas other service providers are task-oriented. They’ve done a great job understanding our needs and delivering effective solutions. We thought we wanted something, and they showed us something else that was better quality and less expensive. They’ve given us a better product at a lower price, which we appreciate. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

If I were to nitpick, I’d say Linescripts could improve by having all their team members available during our working hours. However, that’s not a complaint because they’ve done a great job. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be completely transparent and communicate what you want and the rationale behind it. Also, if Linescripts advises you differently, let them explain why they think their option would be better. Their recommendations have worked amazingly well for us, so I’d encourage you to give them a chance.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Linescripts Softwares Pvt. Ltd. does accounting solutions development for us based on the projects we have with our customers. We start every sprint by giving them the flow charts and the procedures of our customers, and then I put the required module they need to develop. From there, they provide recommendations on the solution based on what they’ve experienced with their other clients so we can agree on the solution and the timelines. Consequently, we receive feedback from our customers to make changes according to it.

Regarding technologies, they use Odoo and implement HR solutions like an HRIS system and payroll.
