The goal of the project was to break down the complexed functionalities and features of the platform to a very smooth and friendly interface. To make things efficient and simple.

I have had worked with a few senior developers from the team in my previous job. It was a natural decision to work with them again given their professional skills already experienced by me in other projects.

Their main work was on the backend features of the platform. They also helped us with the new design of the website.

The team was 6 people- A project manager, 3 senior full-stack developers, UX designer, Front-end developer.

The impact was significant to the growth of our company and product. They helped us realize the vision of the product we had.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was excellence, the project manager was a very skilfull professional with a business background. they met the deadline which saved us extra costs.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

People. They are very skilfull professionals and have an impressive can-do attitude.

Are there any areas for improvement?

My experience with them was very good . As a client i dont recall any frustrations working with them. However, i think they should evolve and improve to be a market go-to agency.

I am the COO of a fashion company. We are a multi-brand for fashion designers based in Poland.

What challenge were you trying to address with LemonUnit.com?

We have many offline stores around the country, but we were lacking an online presence for our multi-brands and wanted to change that.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

LemonUnit was responsible for building a web-based marketplace platform for Polish high fashion designers. Our most important goal was to make sure it would be easy to use.

Most of the people in the industry aren’t that tech-savvy. So, we had to conduct very detailed research to make sure the product would meet our end-users’ needs (this included the buying customers and designers selling on the platform). In particular, we had to simplify the buying process for the designers to ensure their offering would be displayed in the way they desire.

We created one version of the website and conducted A/B testing, and then we went from there with further development. We custom-built every frame from scratch (including the admin panel). 

They also created an entire algorithm for a virtual advisor. The feature chooses products that are designed for very specific types of silhouettes, giving a customized offer to the user.

They used PHP and Laravel for the framework. Everything was created from scratch with their UX designer.

What is the team composition?

Their entire team consists only of senior developers. (They don’t work with anyone who has just graduated from a university and hasn’t worked with a client yet.)  I worked with a highly experienced project manager who had over 15 years of experience. 

How did you come to work with LemonUnit.com?

We previously worked with a different company, but they didn’t meet our expectations at all. We were supposed to work on a time and material basis. Since they failed, it generated a lot of costs for us. 

We reached out to LemonUnit to help us out. We’re from the same city, I knew their company, and I knew they would know how to handle our project based on their past experience. They had great experience building one of the biggest marketplaces out there for digital products. 

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent close to $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in August of 2018, and the work is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It was a smooth collaboration. So, after launching our product, we decided we wanted to hire them for continuous assistance, portal maintenance, and further development.

How did LemonUnit.com perform from a project management standpoint?

I can’t say anything bad. They were amazing, and they still are. Our communication is very smooth, and they deliver on time. Sometimes they surprise me by reacting to my call immediately and fixing my issue asap.

We met with each other almost every week, and almost every day at the beginning of the process. We had a very tight timeline to complete the project, so we had to work fast.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are honest — they will tell you if something is a really bad idea. 
Also, they’re really supportive. I had some ideas that I thought were brilliant during the first phase of development. Then, they confronted me with their views about what can and cannot be done. They could create exactly what I wanted, but instead, they guided me to better choices.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They are pretty expensive, but the price should be accepted if you want someone experienced that can deliver what you need quickly (and in a better way than others).

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very straightforward with them and tell them exactly what you need. Don’t hide anything and ask them what is and isn’t possible. Make sure that you listen to their ideas.

We are a startup mobile phone brand/manufacturer with a focus on providing a unique offering for the young, urban, hip-hop inspired target market. I am responsible for the UI/UX of the offering.

With our custom Android phone and a very small team, we relied heavily on LemonUnit to build our custom Android launcher.

What were your goals for this project?

We had a very tight timeline and budget to realize a custom Android launcher that pulled about a dozen apps together under one experience.

Unfortunately I was not part of the vendor selection process. I believe that our CEO found LemonUnit through a referral.

The project was very quick taking only a little over 2 weeks for LemonUnit to deliver the first version and another few weeks to make changes as per our request.

What was the team composition?

The LemonUnit team consisted of a technical project manager and a Android developer. The project manager worked closely with me to understand UI design requirements as well as our CEO's requirements. Meanwhile, the Android developer worked closely with me to deliver the app and address change requests.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The biggest challenge to this project was the interpretation of the CEO's vision into a functioning Android experience. LemonUnit rose to the challenge to work quickly and professionally to deliver multiple iterations of the Android launcher. As our CEO had back-to-back meetings with investors and partners on a 2 week roadshow, LemonUnit was quick to address any change requests to make the roadshow a success.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Beyond emails, Skype calls and JIRA, the workflow with myself and LemonUnit was seemless and efficient.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Having dealt with a few offshore software development teams in my career, I was very impressed with how professional LemonUnit was in their process, communications, and team composition.

Are there any areas for improvement?

While LemonUnit's speed and willingness to meet our requirements was amazing, I would suggest that they add an extra step at the beginning of the project to educate their clients (and key stakeholders) to make sure expectations are set properly.

Cointelligence creates tools for individuals and organizations to better engage with the crypto industry. This includes the educational platform Cointelligence Academy, and unbiased market surveillance tools such as the Exchange Rating System.

I met Hosam Mazawi, Co-Founder of LemonUnit at an event in 2018, and we had a couple of follow-up meetings. 

I needed a strong team that I can rely on as well understand the crypto industry.I gave them a quick test, and they proved their quality, so we went forward with a more in-depth cooperation.

LemonUnit made Cointelligence is 10x faster than it was before.

The new admin panel is more user friendly and enables us to do many things that were not possible with our previous WordPress-based system.The new back-end solution made the website more efficient and fast, and has also made front-end development and changes much easier than they were before.

The LemonUnit team was always available, in many cases even during weekends and late nights. Small changes took minutes instead of days.

The project manager was very responsive, always available to provide answers and updates.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They always found solutions to any challenges that I threw their way. Their software development team is one of the best I have ever worked with.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nobody is perfect. In software, as we all know, you will never build the perfect product from the first time you deploy the code. There were bugs, yet LemonUnit response time was always super fast and they were efficient about resolving issues.
