I’m the CEO of WLI DataScout.

What challenge were you trying to address with LBPro?

We’re developing a platform that serves as a marketing and advertising tool. We needed a team to develop the software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team has provided full-stack support throughout the development process. 

We’re creating a media product, so we need capabilities to manipulate images and videos on our platform. There’s a streaming component and a portal where users can create interactive media.

LBPro supports us in implementing those components within the software.

What is the team composition?

I don’t know the exact number of people involved with the project, but their team is capable of scaling up or down depending on what our current needs are. My main point of contact is our project manager Pawel (Software Tester & QA Specialist, LBPro). 

How did you come to work with LBPro?

Our product has several components and each requires different capabilities. LBPro’s technical abilities allowed them to develop each individual project and weave them together into one. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $50,000-$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with LBPro in March 2017 and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

LBPro incorporates testing into the initial creation of the product, which saves us a lot of time and sets them apart. When we get a deliverable from their team, it’s already running and we don’t have to do any independent testing on our own. 

The reliability the team provides in their development allows us to confidently make promises to our customers. 

We also engage with LBPro not just as a development team, but as a thought partner. They’ve helped guide us through many aspects of this project outside of strictly coding.

How did LBPro perform from a project management standpoint?

Pawel has performed excellently. He’s very hands-on and very communicative, making sure to stay in touch on a regular basis. If something ever comes up that’s outside of his team’s capabilities, he’s able to connect us with the right resource.

There are so many moving pieces involved in our software, and he and his team has handled them all very well. He’s able to communicate complex ideas in a way the client can understand, which is exactly what our project needed. I can’t give Pawel enough praise. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Often, providers will comply with what their clients want regardless of if its the best choice for their product. The team is able to offer constructive feedback and push back against our ideas when they don’t think they would help us accomplish our goals. 

LBPro always has the project’s best interests in mind, and it’s been great to have such an active and involved partner.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

Managing the time zone has presented some challenges along the way, but we don’t hold that against them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come prepared with your own ideas and lay them out as well as you can. The better the material you can present them with, the better the outcome they can produce for you.

Please describe your company and your position there.

TEZ was founded by Ken Lovegreen in 2010. TEZ is a mobile technology company focused on the hospitality industry. The core products within TEZ include: SMS Valet, TEXT2PARK, TEXT4SERVICE.

For what projects/services did your company hire LBPro?

I had worked with Kuba Poskrobko since 2007 and I knew his talent for managing projects. SO when I formed TEZ, I knew Kuba would be perfect for forming a company to develop the custom software needed for TEZ.

What were your goals for this project?

Our primary goal was to develop the best mobile platform for the Valet industry. As with any software, there is ongoing support and development needed to stay ahead of the pack. We wanted a company that was agile but provided platform stability.

How did you select this vendor?

I had known Kuba for about 5 years prior to forming TEZ and I knew his commitment to delivering a quality product. We tried others in India but the quality level was not there. We always came to LB Pro due to their ability to deliver in time.

They have done many projects, apps and databases for TEZ over the last 10 years.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Software is the core of TEZ. We have built a recurring revenue model for the software platforms. Our goals have been exceeded.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We have weekly meetings and small team are established to help separate the tasks and keep the projects moving along

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The ability to communicate in English has always been a fear with offshore development. However, we found their English to be quite better than India.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As we grow our business, so grows the complexity of the systems. TEZ Priorities are dependent on LB Pro's workload estimates. The only area to grow that I can think of is removing LB Pro's fear of commitment and making schedules.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and owner of Ideal Group, a food and beverage company. We have a chain of vending machines that we’re installing in Poland and other surrounding countries.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with LBPro?

In the face of some market challenges, we were looking to develop software for the electronic devices that are attached to our vending machines.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

LBPro developed a system where customers have access to virtual accounts. It’s a unique software that allows users to access their past vending purchases. Their team installed the system into our electronic devices, which they also helped program.

The technology has an additional function of helping technicians do maintenance work on the machines. It has troubleshooting capabilities to ensure the smooth running of the vending machine.

What is the team composition?

While there were only 2–3 people in the beginning, there were 20 teammates on the project at its peak. On average, we worked with around five people.

How did you come to work with LBPro?

We found LBPro after doing some market research. While we considered alternatives, they happened to be the most experienced and flexible.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere between $500,000 and $1,000,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between July 2015 until December 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

LBPro effectively established the foundation of our business, which can now grow and scale. Our decision to work with them was the right one because we’re very satisfied with the solution they’ve provided. The software is working, and our customers are satisfied, so we’re now planning to expand to other markets.

How did LBPro perform from a project management standpoint?

They managed the project very professionally. They provided monthly progress reports to ensure that we were hitting the milestones we needed. At all steps of the way, we were aware of what we’d done and what we still needed to go.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What was remarkable was their ability to provide experts who had the very specific knowledge that was required for our project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were a few roadblocks, but in the end, all problems were resolved. I know we ran into some IoT difficulties along the way.

Don’t be afraid to vocalize your concerns and needs, because they’re there to help you.
