Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of a payment facilitator fintech company. We process credit card transactions over the internet and physical mediums. Then, we pay the merchants and receive the payment from the acquirers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Kinamic?

We needed full stack developers that knew the principles of software architecture.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re under a staff augmentation program with Kinamic. I initially sent them a brief, they sent us some CVs, and we interviewed the candidates, ultimately picking two of them. The team has one office day per week, and we give them homework.

They’ve helped us with full stack custom software development, including back- and frontend using .NET, .NET Core, Angular, React,  PostgreSQL, and AWS. They also use any Amazon functionalities that are needed, such as serverless Lambdas. We provide them with documentation, and they build on the specifications we give them.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with Ricardo (CEO & Co-founder), and we have two resources from Kinamic in our team.

How did you come to work with Kinamic?

I’ve worked with Kinamic in the past on another staff augmentation project. Since they were efficient and proficient in that project, we wanted to try again with them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We pay for 100 hours a month, and we’re on a monthly budget of $10,000. So far, we’ve spent over $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I consider Kinamic, a part of our team. The best metric of their success is that I’m online working with them and still planning to continue using their services.

How did Kinamic perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very accurate and proficient in their project management. We use Azure DevOps Services as a project management tool and Google Meet for communication every day. Ricardo is very supportive and calls me weekly to follow up about how the team is performing, what we expect and need, and what they can improve.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with Kinamic’s dedication — they care about the work they’re providing. I currently have two staff augmentation providers, and I would gladly recommend Kinamic over my other provider. With Kinamic, I’ve found value because they’re a software development company and not an HR company. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m really happy with them.

My advice is to trust Kinamic’s advice.

We hired Kinamic to help us source some project managers and developers. Our goal was to fill some open positions we had with high quality people.

Using Web frontend and backend stacks, we help integrate custom software into the infrastructure of our client.

We have had 3 people including a project manager, and two developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The most measurable thing is customer satisfaction. Our customer has been so satisfied, they have come back a number of times with more projects.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We needed self starters that can run with a project scope with minimal time efforts. Using Slack and some internal tools, we were able to meet all timelines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They show a high level of excellence and are very detailed. They have very high standards concerning who they hire, which in turn has helped me obtain great people for my projects.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wish they could hire even faster but it takes time to get quality people.
