Kegan migrated our website to WordPress, focusing mostly on the home page, but also delivering additional pages for our blog and one of our Salesforce boutique consulting firm. Kegan took care of setting up the hosting and walking us through how to maintain the website. He made the website UI much more attractive and professional compared to our former website on Squarespace.

Two days after our website revamp went live, a potential customer got back in touch letting us know they would like to purchase licenses.

We asked him to create and design a website for us as an extension of our original website. Our goal was to set up a website catered to the individual client instead of the institutional client.

Kegan worked with the team before I joined but it was apparent to me that based off of his past experience in web development that he was a qualified professional for the project.

We had weekly meetings to discuss goals and how to achieve them. Kegan was always very responsive keeping in mind the limitations we had as well as exceeding expectations on what we could do.

I worked solely with Kegan, he did everything on the coding end to some key design elements that we knew we wanted to incorporate.

The website has been put at a pause for now however that has little to do with Kegan and more to do with a shift in priorities.

We communicated over email, Kegan was always timely in his responses and suggestions in improving what we already had.

We appreciated their ability to shape our ideas in a way that made them more effective. It’s difficult not having a huge team but Kegan never made that a problem he’d always work tirelessly and meet our project deadlines.

No he did a great job I wouldn’t say there was anything he could’ve done differently.

Our website was birthed over 20 years ago and was super outdated and stuck and older version of Wordpress that became a mess of plugins and unused data. We hired Kegan to migrate our old site to a new WordPress platform and give it a cleaner easier format for both front-end and back-end users.

We searched for about a dozen web developers throughout the US. Kegan was an immediate fit because her was direct, personable, approachable, and didn't make us fill out some stupid 25 page form about website goals and company core values. They clearly understood what needed to happen and didn't ask many questions to figure out how to approach it.

We had several meetings via zoom to figure out how to transition to a new site. Discussed different possibilities, gave me feedback and guidance on current standards, what works and doesn't. Most of what we were able to do was via email, screenshots, annotations. Super easy.

We are extremely happy with the new, clean, updated Wordpress backend system and even more excited at the fresh clean look of the new site. Excited to see how customers engage with it.

Kegan and primarily worked via email, google drive, dropbox, and/or live google meets to walk through notes and needs. Kegan responds to notes and updates and wild changes very quickly and without drama or issues.

One man show, no drama, straightforward, approachable, no ego when I don't like something. Keeping it simple and professional and fun to work with.

We were provided a website design by our marketing consulting firm. I sought out Kegan Quimby to develop the site based on the design. The site design involved multiple landing pages, motion graphics, photo carousels, and embedded video content, as well as a contact sheet. The project had an extremely aggressive timeline - (about 16 days, including weekends.)

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I found the vendor on Yelp and based on the confidence he exuded when discussing the project, his extremely responsive communication cadence and clear communication style. Kegan was also extremely accommodating to the demanding deadline, and provided a clear work plan that illustrated a line of sight towards delivery.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives, from there, Kegan worked with the design team and built out the website style first, followed by function and finally inserted the appropriate content. We had a very simple issue tracking sheet and Kegan very quickly worked through all of the issues during a rigorous QA period, and was on standby throughout the Launch process, accommodating quickly all of the follow-up requests.

Kegan was a 1-man army, however it felt like I was working with a fully-staffed dev firm.

We were extremely satisfied with the website's execution, and Kegan remained responsive during post-launch.

Kegan was available for discuss throughout the process, and proactively provided me a few options on when to connect throughout the duration of the project. He interfaced seamlessly with my team and with the design firm. complete professionalism from beginning to end.

extreme professionalism, dedicated problem solver, amazing work ethic.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing comes to mind workwise. I wish that Kegan had a beefier portfolio that would inform me of recent work. (as it was he had done the site of a business partner so I was able to verify his work, but had it not been the reference, I would have been tempted to pass. I am obviously glad I did not pass up on the opportunity to work with Kegan.

My cousin and I run a podcast. We talk about all things sports and current events. I'm a 50/50 owner, and in charge of making sure the show goes off without a hitch (setting up topics to talk about, trivia questions, etc.). I'm the equivalent of the play-by-play announcer, and my cousin would be similar to the color commentator.

We didn't have any web presence for our podcast, and our goals were two fold: first, we wanted to be able to have a site where we could blog about current topics, and things that we didn't talk about on the show. Secondly, we wanted to have the episodes and show notes uploaded to our own site, so all traffic was sent there instead of anchor.fm (which is what we were using before).

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for a bit, and really liked all the reviews and past client testimonials we had seen from Kegan. We knew this wouldn't be a terribly big job, but wanted to make sure it was done right, and on time, and met all our goals. We also wanted to make sure that we had one point of contact, and that that was going to be the person building and designing our site.

The main deliverable was a fully functioning website that we could update and manage ourselves. We had a few different meetings to discuss what technologies we could use, but ultimately landed on WordPress for its ease-of-use. We also met about other sites we like the look and feel of, and Kegan presented us with a few different design options before building out anything.

The main steps were first design, then development, then some SEO stuff. We wanted to make sure we had a custom built website that would score well in Google, and would be mobile friendly. Kegan checked all the boxes and then some! He was super helpful with teaching us about the website, how to use everything, and made it really easy to do everything we wanted!

After launching our site, we saw a roughly 2x increase in traffic and downloads per episode.

Kegan was well ahead of schedule pretty much every step of the way! He was in communication whenever he had any sort of question, or whenever we needed him. If we had to setup a call with him it was always within a day or less. I would definitely recommend Kegan for this fact alone: you're never in the dark!! I've worked with other developers in the past who just don't respond and disappear for weeks on end.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The best part about the experience was the end-to-end communication with Kegan. The fact that he was working on everything himself, meant that there was never a lag time on communicating and a break down in the goals. Nothing was ever lost in translation. Oh, that, and the site he built was awesome!!

We support our landing pages with active marketing programs, so it's hard to say how much of our increased site traffic and business traction attributes solely to our web development projects. The ongoing value is that we have an active partner who is always available to update our content, launch new microsites or pages, and keep our versions up to date.

Kegan is an active manager of projects. His project plans are appropriately succinct and actionable. In the middle of an active development project we often connected by slack; the rest of the time we'd track progress through email and occasional sync meetings. Kegan's work style demonstrated consistent energy and great attention to detail.

Availability, energetic and timely delivery, current with design and technology. And a very nice guy who our team enjoys working with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Kegan moves faster than our organization does, and has more creative energy to spare. That's something I would not change.
