I was the Project Lead for a collaborative working group aimed at educating industry (pharma) stakeholders about the latest innovative tech.

We hired Jupiter and the Giraffe to develop a full brand image (logo, website, assets). We needed to appear established and professional, yet innovative.

We selected this vendor as we knew they had a great track record, we were looking for delivery speed and someone who was easy to work with.

We had a kick off meeting and weekly touch points where Sam and his team clearly communicated their progress and ensured all our questions were answered.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

With the deliverables, we were able to grow membership by 10x in a short time frame, as now our mission was clearly communicated.

We had weekly checkins and clear comms over email throughout. Often, we were presented with options from which we could choose which path we wanted to move forward with. We generally discussed via Zoom.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were professional, creative, and understood the image we were looking for. They handed over a website which we could then manage, which was important.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, everything was great.

I am the CEO of a cybersecurity company called Gridware.

What challenge were you trying to address with Jupiter and the Giraffe?

We had a software development project and we identified Jupiter and the Giraffe as a suitable vendor to help us with it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were helping our customers through a cybersecurity assessment survey that’s web-based, and Jupiter and the Giraffe was involved in both UI/UX consulting and software development. 

They collaborated with us on the wireframes for our private application. With our proprietary technology on the web app, we could use this to deliver our assessment services to clients. We provided them Jupiter and the Giraffe with some examples, and their team programmed the formulas and the code. They also developed a function that could generate a final PDF report of the survey results. It contains graphs, charts, and analytics detailing a customer’s different risks. 

When they were done creating the wireframes, they started identifying and developing the best tools and technologies that could ensure a really good survey outcome. We had some design instructions and preferences, but they executed the most most suitable design elements that would ensure client engagement. In the end, Jupiter and the Giraffe created a design that simplified the survey and made it easy to navigate.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Samuel (Founder & Company Director) and another partner. Samuel managed the team of developers and relayed the instructions for us.

How did you come to work with Jupiter and the Giraffe?

We were both stationed in a WeWork office. When I asked WeWork for some recommendations, they let us know that there was a web design and development company on the same floor as us. I set up an initial discussion with Jupiter and the Giraffe and spoke with them about cost, commercials, and requirements. They seemed like a really good fit and I was happy with their proposal, so we moved forward from there.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost is around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from June–December 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Jupiter and the Giraffe accomplished the task with minimal direction other than the high-level project scopes. They were able to project manage and deliver both the design and the technical elements of the product, as well ensuring that it met our client’s requirements. There were a few bugs that came up but the team was able to sort them out prior to completion. Any issues that arose were quickly identified during the QA process.

There aren’t many web developers that have their level of customer journey consulting experience. They were, to some capacity, acting as a marketing agency and not just as a web developer. They prioritized designing a seamless user experience, but they also made the backend of our software very efficient. Their excellent foundation and design made the product very successful, and it simplified the concept of cybersecurity for our customers. 

How did Jupiter and the Giraffe perform from a project management standpoint?

Jupiter and the Giraffe was excellent. They were able to meet almost all of the deadlines without any issue. They worked with me to set particular milestones and they were able to reach those milestones very well. They delivered the project on time and within our budget.

They set up regular check-ins to update us on the progress of the development and a Slack channel. We also communicated through Slack, phone calls, and in-person meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about Jupiter and the Giraffe was their attention to design. Most developers dedicate 90% of their energy to the development and 10% to design, but this team did a 50/50 between both. Sam, in particular, is an excellent artist and it definitely showed in the quality of their final product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There is nothing that I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that you have an excellent understanding of your requirements because having a vision doesn’t necessarily mean that you have thought through all of the technical requirements. The more you understand the technical side of your project, the better Jupiter and the Giraffe will be at ensuring you get a high-quality outcome.

I needed help to develop an app for my project. I wanted a product that I could test first and put among my friends.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jupiter And The Giraffe is helping me build a beta version of the app I want to develop. I sketched a design on Figma, and they’ve been using that to make the design I need.

We’ve been working with Sam (CEO) and two front- and backend developers.

I met Sam at a WeWork space. When I told him about my project, he said that his company could help me with what I needed, so I decided to try them. I based my decision on their cost, the general approach they wanted to take to do the project — it seemed like they had a plan to do everything.

We’ve spent $9,000 with them so far.

We started working in October 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

Overall, I’m happy with their work; they’ve been delivering what I want.

How did Jupiter And The Giraffe perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication has been good, and project management has been smooth; we have biweekly check-ins. We use Trello as a tool, which allows me to know what they’re doing at any given time.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

Their flexibility whenever I want to change something is outstanding; they’re always open to anything. They’re also very organized and come up with a plan for everything.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had some bugs at the beginning, but they fixed those along the way. 

Any advice for potential customers?

Scope out the project initially so everyone can walk through the project and understand what the user will do with the product.
