I'm the COO of Advanced Protection Systems in Poland, a company that develops counter-drone systems.

What challenge were you trying to address with JMB Lab?

We hired JMB Lab to help us develop the software platform for our system. 
 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The primary technology they used to program the software was Angular C. The system they developed needs to run on different platforms, so they built it for Linux, Windows and Mac iOS. They also developed a client-server application. 

What is the team composition? 

Three developers from JMB Lab worked on our project.

How did you come to work with JMB Lab?

We decided they were the best fit because they offer a very high quality of service at a nice price. 

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost of their services was around 60,000 euros (approximately $68,700 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together for about a year starting in December 2015.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of JMB Lab's work was very high. I don't have any specific metrics to share, but they definitely made a positive impact on our company. We fully recommend JMB Lab. 

How did JMB Lab perform from a project management standpoint?

JMB Lab managed the project very well. They used a specific project management system and met all the deadlines. We didn't experience any problems from the project management perspective. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I found the high level of communication the developers maintained to be noteworthy. The overall experience was excellent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything was fine.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the managing director at Hakon Software Sp. z o.o., a manufacturer of healthcare software. Our most prominent product is the top stomatology practice management system in Poland.

For what projects/services did your company hire JMB Lab?

We struggled with in-house software development for years. In 2015, we decided to outsource all of our needs to JMB Lab and focus on sales and customer support. 

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to accelerate the development of our products and improve their reliability by outsourcing professionals who keep up with the latest technologies and best practices.

How did you select this vendor?

We had previously worked with their founder, who was honest and led an experienced team. With that in mind, we decided to give them a shot for this project.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They take the weight of the software development cycle off our shoulders. JMB Lab performs project management, business analysis, programming, quality assurance, and release management. They've introduced us to Kanban and other professional software development tools like Jira and Confluence.

What was the team composition?

The team consists of four full-time software engineers, a tester, and a project manager. They're supported by a software architect and a scrum master.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

JMB Lab has improved the quality of our products. Release dates are much more predictable, the number of bugs has decreased, and new features are released more quickly. Their tools make our development process more transparent, so it's easier for us to monitor progress and costs.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We've outsourced project management to JMB Lab, and they perform well. Our project manager keeps us up-to-date. If any problems occur, they solve them immediately. We usually communicate using Jira, Slack, and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We value JMB Lab for their ability to understand our business and implement solutions quickly and reliably. Plus, their responsiveness is excellent. When we have problems or concerns, they're always there to help.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

We might increase the team size to develop more features.
