We develop software solutions for mechanized warehouses and distribution centers. Our software suite is continuously challenged to deal with the changing environment at our (potential) customers.

For what projects/services did your company hire ISD?

Few years ago Inther faced a strident shortage of software developers. The tasks of our software department formed a pipeline that was continuously growing. A fast and reliable solution was necessary.

Initially we considered offshore outsourcing. However due to cultural differences, time zone and language difficulties, many companies in similar software development environments had bad experience with it. In these circumstances Eastern Europe came up as a balanced solution. ISD took over a big part of our software tasks. Due to high dedication and eagerness to succeed ISD quickly became the reliable partner we were looking for. Inther is happy to work and continuously extend cooperation with ISD

What were your goals for this project?

Skilled employees/teams who are able to perform software development projects by themselves as a stand alone organization, but also able to act as an extension of our own in house software development center

How did you select this vendor?

We looked to several alternatives in the east part of Europe. For good and easy communication purposes, East Europe was a pre condition for us, based on culture aspects and limited time differences.

2 different type of services are being provided.

• R&D support: specific R&D software projects are developed by ISD.
•  Projects: Parts or complete end customer projects are handled by ISD.

What was the team composition?

The size of the teams did increase in the recent years tremendously.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The overall software department became more agile and is continuously triggered to work with the latest state of art development tools

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Smaller projects are still managed from the HQ. Bigger projects have a project manager inside the ISD organization.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their focus on efficiency and both internal and external teamwork was critical to our success.

Are there any areas for improvement?

To ensure sufficient capacities on a short term it is helpful to work with a frame work agreement. This gives both parties flexibility and makes scheduling services much easier, with a shorter waiting time.
