    Every Iron Gate client is supported by a dedicated team of senior engineers who serve as their primary point of contact for both technical execution and strategic guidance. There is no tiered support structure. The engineers who design and build the environment are the same ones who maintain it, resolve issues, and plan for what comes next. Day to day, we operate as an extension of the client’s leadership team. Monitoring, maintenance, security, and vendor coordination are handled proactively so issues are addressed before they become disruptions. When something does require attention, clients reach us directly, no queues, no dispatchers, no scripts. At the strategic level, we conduct regular technology reviews with leadership to align IT with business objectives. This includes infrastructure lifecycle planning, security assessments, budgeting, and evaluating new platforms. Our role is not just to keep systems running, but to ensure technology decisions are intentional and aligned with the organization’s direction. Communication is direct and consistent. Expectations are defined during onboarding, scope and responsibilities are clearly established, and accountability is maintained through documentation and reporting. Clients always know what is being done, why it matters, and what is ahead. We are selective about the partnerships we take on. This model works when both sides are committed to clear communication, shared accountability, and a long-term view. The result is a relationship where IT operates as a strategic advantage, not a recurring problem.

    We do not measure success by a single metric because managed IT is not a project with a finish line. It is an ongoing partnership where success is defined by what does not happen: unplanned downtime, security incidents, vendor disputes, and reactive firefighting. The most measurable outcomes we deliver are operational. Clients experience fewer disruptions, faster resolution times, predictable monthly costs, and a clear technology roadmap aligned with their business. Systems are continuously monitored, patched, and maintained, so issues are identified and resolved before they impact users. ROI becomes most visible in the shift from reactive to proactive IT. Organizations coming from break/fix or underperforming providers typically see a meaningful reduction in recurring issues within the first 90 days.     We currently support approximately 75 client organizations across Western Pennsylvania. That number is intentional. We do not pursue growth for its own sake or take on clients that are not aligned with how we operate. Our model is built on dedicated engineering teams who know each client environment in depth. This requires maintaining a client-to-engineer ratio that enables real ownership, not ticket processing. We do not scale beyond our capacity to deliver at that level. Every client receives the same standard of service regardless of size. Whether an organization has 10 users or 100+, they work directly with senior engineers who are accountable for outcomes, not metrics. We are selective because the quality of the partnership matters more than the size of the client list.

    Every new client engagement begins with a structured discovery and transition process designed to establish full operational ownership of the environment from day one. Before any technical changes are made, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of infrastructure, security posture, vendor relationships, and existing documentation. This provides a clear understanding of the current state and allows us to identify risks, gaps, and priorities before assuming responsibility. We then execute a defined onboarding sequence that includes deploying our monitoring and management tools, establishing security baselines, documenting systems and credentials, and coordinating transitions with outgoing providers or internal staff. Each step is tracked and communicated so leadership has full visibility. Onboarding is also used to align expectations. We define scope, communication protocols, escalation paths, and response standards so the client knows exactly who to contact, how to reach us, and what to expect. The typical onboarding timeline is two to four weeks, depending on environment complexity. We prioritize thoroughness over speed, because rushed transitions create the problems we are hired to eliminate. Once onboarding is complete, the same engineering team continues as the client’s dedicated support and advisory resource, ensuring continuity and accountability from the start.

    Yes. We design and manage client environments with regulatory and compliance requirements in mind, including HIPAA, PCI, and industry-specific frameworks relevant to our clients in healthcare, financial services, professional services, and nonprofit organizations. Our approach includes implementing and maintaining the technical controls that support compliance objectives, including access management, encryption, endpoint protection, backup and recovery, audit logging, and security awareness training. We work closely with clients and, where appropriate, their compliance advisors to ensure the technology environment aligns with applicable requirements. While we do not serve as a compliance auditor or certifying body, we take responsibility for the technical environment, ensuring it is properly configured, continuously monitored, and well documented to support compliance as an ongoing operational standard, not a one-time project.
