OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Institute of Ideas and Inventions?

My company was running a one-day event, and we needed a team to help us take payments and promote the event on the web.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

This was the first event we were hosting, so I relied on their support for ticket sales and promoting the event online. I communicated with their team about my vision, providing them with an outline of what I wanted on each page.

From there, they came up with ideas on how to integrate payment processing and execute on the site. I provided most of the content, and they translated my requirements into a website.

What is the team composition?

I worked with a project lead and a developer.

How did you come to work with Institute of Ideas and Inventions?

I knew them through friends and family, so I had an understanding of their work. I trusted them and felt comfortable about working with them, especially for a type of project I lacked experience with.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2017–January 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was happy with the site because it was professional and represented my event well. We got a lot of engagement and ticket orders. The platform definitely served its purpose.

How did Institute of Ideas and Inventions perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated regularly through email. They were very responsive to my requests, despite us being located in different time zones.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were approachable and able to visualize my ideas well. It was an easygoing experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It probably would’ve been helpful to be located in the same area. In retrospect, we could’ve done some more collaborative Skype or Zoom calls to make up for that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They were approachable and easygoing. Despite my lack of technical experience, they made the process very simple.
