Please describe your company and your position there.

I am chief of an area call Digital Experimentation. We are an organization with 2000 farmer members. Most of them are top producers. Our service is about sharing knowledge between farmer. They are usually gather in groups of 8 peolple and they share KPIs and know how about the best ways of producing, about market conditions and the enterprise organization. Our organization has 60 years old and we are looking forward a digital transformation.

For what projects/services did your company hire induSoftware, and what were your goals?

We want to digitalize a very important part of the meeting of the farmers. Before making the development we wanna know if our insights were correct so we wanted to do a Discovery.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had a couple of interviews, they seem to be very serius guys, professional and with experiencie. After they send us a budget according to our expectations we hired them.

They interview several users of our organization. There were 4 sessions of interviews with 4 people per session. Before and after that they had several meeting with us (the sponsors).

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are able to advance to de MVP with good insights to start. We are very excited about the hall process

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Excelente management style. They adapt there methodology to our users who are people not that tech friendly. They offer us different options of schedule. A low point of that were that the options sometimes weren’t that comfortable pmfor example 12 pm o 1.30 pm

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very professional, and they knew what they were doing. Also their commitment to the project. At last but not least their friendliness during the hole project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The options of schedule were uncomfortable

I am the CTO of a software company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with induSoftware?

We had a robust development team but needed additional help with specialized technologies, so we reached out to induSoftware to help us fill the skills gap with their developers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We collaborated with the induSoftware team on 4–5 projects to develop several technology solutions for our clients. 

induSoftware worked on a large project where they streamlined the interface between our client’s shipping system and their ERP. The client was using two separate systems, so induSoftware integrated the shipping software with the ERP so that the client could handle international shipping logistics in one place. They used Scrum methodology to help us build a system from scratch and collaborated on the UX design. 

Our ERP client then asked us to extend the solution and build a feature that could create invoices in the system, which induSoftware helped us execute. Then, the client asked us to maintain the software, and we involved induSoftware because they had the necessary technical knowledge from having built the tool.

Then, we involved induSoftware in another project for a different client. The client already had a global system that managed invoices, accountability, general ledger, and other functions, but they needed to implement the solution in other countries, including Argentina. I designed the solution, and induSoftware executed the system's development, testing, and implementation.

We created a backend solution that gathered information from the client’s original system and adapted the information to be consumed by the tax authorities in Argentina. We processed the data to calculate retentions, withholdings, and taxes and created a function that sent the information to the legal system for verification purposes. Once the legal system verifies the information, an invoice is generated and sent back to the customer via email. They also helped us prepare the necessary information our client needed to calculate gross income tax. 

The same client requested another backend solution because they generated and printed invoices in two different systems. We created a solution that enabled the client to do queries and print invoices in one place. Similarly, I designed the solution, and induSoftware created the architecture and executed the development. 

induSoftware also provided support services to the client, which involved intensive training because the client wasn’t well-versed in the software. The induSoftware team responded to many requests and coached the client to respond to different situations within the technology when they made mistakes. They consulted directly with the client to ensure they knew how to use the system effectively. They also provided some infrastructure support to our clients regarding email servers.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 8–9 induSoftware team members, including 3–4 developers, an architect, a business analyst, and a tester. Eric (Co-Founder & CEO) was our primary project manager, and we also worked with Alejandro (Co-Founder & CTO) and Matias (Partner & COO). 

How did you come to work with induSoftware?

I had worked with Eric many years ago, and we maintained contact when he founded induSoftware. When I needed development services, I contacted them through LinkedIn and asked if they could help us with our software solutions projects. We evaluated three potential software development partners, and induSoftware stood out due to their technical expertise. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested roughly $200,000–$1 million in the partnership with induSoftware. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with induSoftware from March 2014–February 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Each project was different in nature, but induSoftware was successful throughout all of them. 

We measured success by the deviation between the plan and the quality of the execution. The difference between the plan and execution never exceeded 10%. We also tracked critical bugs after go-live but didn’t identify any throughout the projects. 

The results for the ERP project were excellent; the client was so satisfied with the product that they recommended our services to another client, who hired us for the global system implementation in Argentina. 

Their customer satisfaction scores were always excellent. They provided certain services to our clients that weren’t listed in the contract, and they were always willing to go above and beyond. We set specific lead time targets for their support services, and they always resolved issues within 24 hours. We never had any complaints or escalations from clients, which reflected well on us and solidified our relationship with them.  

How did induSoftware perform from a project management standpoint?

Our initial project manager wasn’t the best fit for us, and induSoftware immediately replaced them. Then, Eric took over as our primary project manager, worked with us from the software development lifecycle to the implementations, and managed each project very well. 

We worked on several projects together and did not have any critical issues after moving to production. The delay between the plans and execution for each project never exceeded 15 days, which was terrific. We had one project extension due to limitations on the client’s part; even still, induSoftware made the necessary modifications and delivered the project within the timeframe for the extension.

They delivered everything within budget and were very flexible with us. We used Jira to manage each project and communicated via Google Meet. We also had access to their cell phone numbers in case of emergency. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

induSoftware’s biggest strength is their technical knowledge. Their business analysts have a lot of expertise in invoices, general ledger, and payments, which proved helpful during several projects. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

induSoftware could improve their management involvement. Since we were very involved in the project, we implemented our methodology, which they executed well. However, induSoftware could improve by offering management ideas and support.

Be precise about what you need, and set clear expectations regarding your needs, scope of work, and services. If you’re clear with them, induSoftware provide an excellent service.
