Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a startup company building a portfolio calculation tool for financial service providers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with iLucentTechnolabs?

We needed a development partner who could work based on our business requirements. It was our first time working on a project like this one.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

iLucentTechnolabs is working on our platform's backend and frontend. It's using PHP and MySQL on the backend and HTML and CSS on the frontend. Our software is intended for financial advisors, keeping track of their portfolio statuses and enrichment valuations.

We worked with a two-person team initially and are currently using three to four people from iLucentTechnolabs, including a manager. We care more about maintaining our timeframe than the actual number of developers being used.

How did you come to work with iLucentTechnolabs?

iLucentTechnolabs was recommended by a friend who graduated from the same college as one of their members.

How much have you invested with iLucentTechnolabs?

The cost of iLucentTechnolabs' work has been around $200,000. We have a time-and-materials contract.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with iLucentTechnolabs in April 2016. The project is expected to complete in April 2017. We plan to continue its development after that time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

There were some bugs in the beginning, but the overall quality of work was satisfactory. As of now, we are on track with the project.

Are there any areas iLucentTechnolabs could improve?

We asked iLucentTechnolabs to focus more on unit testing. They've improved in terms of bug counts since the start of our relationship.
