we are a boutique and niche high end restaurant and cocktail lounge in te awamutu, in the waikato area servicing the local town, and greater waikato region. i am the director of the company and manage the premises on a day to day basis.

our website was originally created by myself during covid lockdown using a template, we quickly realised that although the website served its purpose which was to take online bookings, it didnt reflect our luxurious brand and secrecy we are about. we hired Human Digital to design a custom website for us that reflected our brand, what we are about and also keeping in mind that im not that tech saavy so it needs to be easy to access and modify. our goals was to have a clear distinction of our brand, look and feel on the website, along with being able to capture customers easier and have better SEO optimization to appear easily for customers.

Human digital (Ben) and the whole team really understood the brand really well and was able to articulate that vision into a reality.

we had a meeting where Human digital really listen, we had multiple meeting and lots of customer research done, and all of this was done in the background with the team coming to us and letting us know what they are doing.

we saw a tremendous amount more people engaging with the website, people consistently comment on how nice it looks and we always get bookings forms coming in.

we are always kept in the loop of where the project was, we were given updates regularly and they project was finished on time if not earlier.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really listened and understood our needs. it wasnt just a person who builds websites and charges you for it, there was a genuine human element which in my industry is huge.

I’m the founder of a dance mentoring business. It’s a program for young dancers who are trying to make it in the industry themselves and find their own version of success.

What challenge were you trying to address with Human Digital?

When I first started, there weren’t a lot of businesses offering dance mentorship. I needed an open-minded team to help me with web development and branding.

What was the scope of their involvement?

It started off as web development. The team really helped me pinpoint what made me different than my competition. They assisted me with branding, color scheme, and the aesthetic that I wanted for the website.

Additionally, they helped me figure out how I would take payments and communicate with interested parties. Because they do a lot of research with competitive brands with other creatives in my field, I was able to develop my brand more.

I worked with Ben (Founder & Designer), a web developer, and a copywriter.

My brother owns a gym and Human Digital did his website. They delivered a professional website while still including the personal touch of a small business. I felt confident that they’d be able to create something similar for me.

We started working together in January 2021, and we launched in April 2021. Our relationship is ongoing with a maintenance agreement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

One of my previous students now books all of her private sessions through my website. It completely streamlined that communication for me. I have three new students that I’ve already started mentoring who all found me through the website. Some of my previous students have reached out to me about working with Human Digital to start their own business as well. 

How did Human Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication was awesome with them. That’s what sold me from the beginning. They’re very personal but super professional. The team always hit deadlines and never canceled meetings. If anything, I was the one that slowed them down at times since there were a lot of questions I didn’t know how to answer.

With every step, they really made me feel comfortable that they were there to support me but not in a pushy way. There was one moment where I felt overwhelmed during the process and I wasn’t sure that the website was going in the direction that I wanted. Straightaway, I decided I needed to pause for a moment because I felt like things were getting lost. Human digital was able to talk me through this and easily figured out the correct solutions to keep going.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Human Digital was able to communicate well with my personal needs. They were able to navigate exactly how I wanted to work. They’re great at creating professional websites with a personal touch.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I have no faults with their work. I’m super proud of the website they built. Ben was super accommodating with everything that I wanted and needed.  

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to be clear and honest from the get-go about what you want and what you’re dreaming up for your business. The more information you give them about yourself and your experience, the better.

I’m the director of Dynamo Athletic. We’re a strength and conditioning facility for teenagers and adolescents in Sydney.

What challenge were you trying to address with Human Digital?

We basically needed to create an online presence. Although we had social media accounts, I wasn’t focused on them. We also had a basic Squarespace website that a friend built. I wanted a professional website and as I had little knowledge in that field, I wanted to work with an expert.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Human Digital built a website that integrates with our app. After COVID, we had to check the number of members in the gym every hour. We had an app that members used to book into sessions, and Human digital connected it with the new website. They also built e-commerce capabilities into the site. Their team hosts the website and provides monthly maintenance.

I only interacted with Ben (Design Director), but he had other team members working on my website.

My partner previously engaged Human Digital to build a website for her company. She highly recommended them. I gave Ben a call, and we hit it off. I felt comfortable discussing my ideas with him from day one.

We worked on this project between June–October 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I was absolutely blown away by the project’s cost because I have friends in business who spent significantly more on their websites. I was impressed by how Ben attended to all of my ideas. I felt comfortable working with him because he didn’t use jargon or make me feel stupid. I had a really positive experience.

How did Human Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team provided constant updates about the project through an online whiteboard, Miro. However, I mostly communicated with Ben during our weekly calls and via email. I was impressed by how I was constantly in the loop even though I didn’t have development expertise.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Human Digital was incredibly accommodating. When partnering with an external agency to work on a project for your business, it can be daunting to let go of your ideas. I felt comfortable with Ben the entire time I worked with him. My requests were never a problem or difficult for them to accommodate.

No, I don’t have any constructive feedback for them. I had an awesome experience.

I am the Special Projects Manager at Alspec. Alspec is the market leader in the design and distribution of innovative aluminium systems to the architectural, residential, industrial and home improvement markets.

A new business unit was created for a completely new product range that didn't fit within Alspec's core business. We needed to create a new website and have a supporting marketing campaign to build brand awareness and ultimately sales.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a website that was premium in look and feel but simple and easy to navigate. Our goal is to have 1,000 impressions within the first month and 20 inquiries/leads per week from the website.

How did you select Human Digital?

Human Digital was recommended by a colleague. There were two other companies we spoke to. The decision to move forward with Human Digital was because they were proposing more than just building a website, they were proposing to give our customers the best experience when visiting our website.

The website needed to be launched in four weeks so we wasted no time having a discovery meeting to get us all on the same page. Human Digital then came back with some research findings to ensure our website would stand out among the competition.

A week later we had a design and loose template to work on. The Human Digital team gave us some great recommendations on how best to appeal to our audience. A few weeks later all the content we provided had been uploaded and the website went live.

I worked mainly with the Director of Human Digital - Ben. He was my contact throughout the process and I was his contact. This made the process run quite quickly and smoothly as the correspondence from both ends were quick and efficient.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

It's only been a couple of months since we launched the website but already we've seen a number of inquires/leads come through the websit and our traffic has increase by 40%. So far we are happy with the results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Ben and I connected via Goggle Meets which worked extremely well. We were able to work around each others busy schedule and still get the job done within the specified timeline.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were impressed with the amount of time and effort Human Digital went to get a better understanding of our business. They asked the right questions to ensure they were producing the best website to meet our needs as well as the customer's needs.

It was also great that Human Digital explained every step of their process in detail so that we could understand why they were doing what they did and what the intended outcome would be.

I was very happy with the process and the end result. Human Digital have been fantastic to work with.

I'm a program director at a worker’s compensation organization in the government sector. We payout claims to workers for any worker who happens to injure themselves during work.

We wanted to introduce a digital payment solution and move away from paper-based invoices. We wanted to alleviate the stress stakeholders had about the payment process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They were originally employed to be our commercial managers to help with our engagement with an external partner. They helped us understand the requirements, design the future stakes, and ensured that we got a great solution for our customer that was in line with the contract.

They led the business analysis as well as driving some of the process design and interaction, on top of the commercial manager activity. They also worked with stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation around design.

We had one main point of contact.

We found them on a consulting platform and it seemed like we could work well together.

We began working together in October 2018, and we wrapped up in December 2019.

The quality of their delivery was fantastic. Our presentations with our stakeholders were very clean, clear, and crisp. It was commented on and complimented by the business. They were always able to articulate a challenging problem in a clear, helpful way. Their deliverables have been top notch. All of their work was well thought through and they took challenging problems and were able to work their way through the challenging problems.

How did Human Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They were fantastic. The quality of delivery was fantastic too.

They were very customer focused and worked with us every step of the way to solve the problem.

Sometimes with design people they get caught up with the inspection of things but I've given them that feedback already.

I've worked with Ben in the past and trust his ability to be able to add value and deliver great outcomes. He hasn't let us down, with the new websites exceeding both our expectations along with those of our key stakeholders.

Complete redevelopment of our websites including the selection of Shopify as the optimal platform for what we were looking to achieve, design of the look and feel, along with delivery and fine tuning of the final product.

Ben personally worked closely with our IT and Marketing Managers to understand our key requirements, validate work being completed, and to keep them advised of progress. He managed all his resources behind the scenes, so from our perspective it was a seamless and very consistent process.

With the sites only launched recently, the primary source of feedback so far as been directly from Australasian dealers and foodservice consultants. In both cases, this has been overwhelmingly positive, with an improved brand perception being achieved in the market as a result.

Comprehensive project plan was provided to begin with, meetings held with my team no less than weekly, with more frequent project management through Trello.

I don't believe the quality testing done was very effective as there were some fundamental items in the project scope that were overlooked.
