We needed a trusted vendor for legacy Obj-C iOS app maintenance who would work on updating app to comply with new Apple guidelines and fixind issues that arose over time.

It was important for us to choose proven vendor thus we were choosing basing on reviews from other companies that worked with The House of Code.

We had meetings with our client as well as with The House Of Code that allowed everyone to understand issues with legacy app. THOC found out more issues that no one noticed and issues regarding updated Apple Guidelines. They were challenged to update the old app and delivered better than anticipated!

We were happy to work mostly directly with CTO as well as other senior iOS developers.

I'm the EMEA R&D Manager at Navico. Navico develops and manufactures marine electronics, including navigation equipment, instrumentation, radar and sonar, for the recreational and commercial marine markets.

We wanted to enhance our internal team of software engineers with highly skilled Android developers who have solid experience working with reactive programming. The goal was to smoothly introduce them to the team and get them up-to-speed with delivering features as soon as possible.

We had previously worked successfully with the owner of The House Of Code on our software development, and since he was able to provide additional skilled engineers it made sense to use them as our development partner.

The existing in-house team needed to increase its capacity due to the timescales for completing development of a major new marine navigation system. The developers provided by The House Of Code were responsible for fixing complex, long-standing issues and delivering the remaining features on time.

We provided all requirements, project vision, and information on our technical challenges to The House Of Code. First they found a matched developer who we interviewed and who then joined our team for an initial period. Once he had proven his skills we then extended the contract and requested a further developer to be provided by The House Of Code. This followed a similar process, with the opportunity to try out the second developer on a part-time basis before extending with a full-time engagement.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

With the support of The House Of Code developers we managed to fix the long-standing performance issues and improve the quality of software that was part of our flagship product, thereby helping us to release the product on time.

Due to experience working in international teams and in the technologies that we use, their developers could be quickly onboarded to a complex project and efficiently collaborate remotely with our team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The House Of code have provided developers with skills matched to the problems that we are solving. Their engineers have good soft skills and are highly professional, which helped them to integrate quickly into the team and collaborate efficiently with them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It would be ideal if there could be quicker access to additional developers with the same high skillset. When we wanted to expand our team further the proposed candidates were not available soon enough.

THOC built a system from scratch that can support fishing competitions across all methods. They designed both a mobile and web application for organizers. The system incorporated highly complex point formats, calculations, and dependencies. The final result is an extremely functional service that is simple and user-friendly for both organizers and users.

Another key strength of the system is its stability. It inspires great trust among clients due to its reliability, even in areas with no internet access. The House of Code has delivered one of the best-functioning systems of its kind in the world.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

First and foremost, the system was tested in 2023 during various types of fishing competitions. All tests were successfully completed. Since the beginning of 2024, the product developed by The House of Code has been introduced to the market and has been used in some of the most prestigious fishing competitions in Europe.

All of these events were successfully concluded, receiving highly positive feedback from clients. The product's success has led to partnerships with the official federations of both the UK and US.

The collaboration with The House of Code was 100% professional from the very beginning. Their management of our product was exceptionally detailed. I had the impression that every element was thoroughly discussed. The entire team worked in accordance with the structures defined by the product managers.

I have had many previous experiences with various teams across different areas of business, and the THOC team was definitely one of the best I have ever worked with in my professional career. All deadlines were met on time, even those that were additionally added by us, despite the team having very little time to meet the needs of our clients.

During events, we could count on their support 24/7, even in particularly stressful situations during championship-level competitions, and they always responded promptly, resolving all issues.

Our project is based on 2 points; Web application Mobile application We called on HOC to develop the Web application, which enabled us to reduce development time while still having a solid base set up by a team of professionals.
