We were asked by our retail customer to develop an analytical marketing solution for their offline shop chain. We had to teach the in-store cameras to recognise product interaction and classify items into groups such as examining, touching, comparing, returning, and so on. To assist with this project, we reached out to Hitech BPO because the client had a large amount of recorded material and we were unable to label it all on our own. They met our objective of 100,000 hours per store, which made the collaboration extremely successful. We can now turn their effort into an ML dataset that will be utilised for KPIs related to product engagement.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The fact that they may function within our client's own annotation tool is impressive. We anticipated them to work within their own tool and then export the results for us to convert to a tool-ready format. However, when they learnt of this flaw, they advised that we work directly in our tool!
Are there any areas for improvement or something Hitech BPO could have done differently?
There were a few minor labelling errors related to consumer interactions during the test. But the pilot's job is to do that. We defined each object in detail during the first week, and the data quality has never declined thereafter.
