I’m the environmental manager of FarmCom.org. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Hayden Russell Web Design?

I started the company with six friends based on an idea. We went on social media to collect funds and gather volunteers, after which we decided to create a website because we really needed a bigger and more professional platform for selling the idea. I reached out to Hayden Russell Web Design and he agreed to help us out. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hayden (Owner, Hayden Russell Web Design) developed our website using WordPress. He also helped with advertising and made a tutorial on how we could update the website ourselves, which was posted on YouTube. I had long calls with him on how to put the website together and decided to feature him on the website like the one who designed it.

What is the team composition?

I think it was just Hayden working on the website, but I’m not sure.

How did you come to work with Hayden Russell Web Design?

I saw an ad on a YouTube video and went to his website. Hayden responded immediately, sending me an email inquiring about my visit and we started working together from there.

How much have you invested with them?

I think we only paid for the domain and something else, which was about $160. We have a $10 monthly agreement with Hayden for supporting the website and doing the changes I can’t tackle myself.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Hayden in June 2019 and the website launched the same month. I think he was done in 2–3 weeks.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve applied to two conferences using the website, and we got into one of them. Overall, I’ve gotten positive feedback from the people who’ve seen the website, and Hayden delivered really fast. I don’t know too much about what a website should look like or how professional it should be, but I have friends in the IT field and they think it’s good. Most of my friends also have organizations, and two of them want Hayden to build their websites. 

How did Hayden Russell Web Design perform from a project management standpoint?

There was a lot of communication with Hayden during the project—I even think I was bothering him too much. We exchanged lots of emails and phone calls, and it was just me and him working together most of the time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I don’t have a lot to compare Hayden Russell Web Design to, but he did a solid job considering his price and the fact that I didn’t pay everything at once. I was giving him a lot of pressure and he delivered. I would recommend him to anyone. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Hayden should get to know the people he’s working with—check up on how things are going and stuff like that. I only talked to him when I needed him to do changes for me, and he doesn’t really follow up. I gave him a review on his Facebook at one time after he asked for some feedback, but I think it should go the other way around too. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should just look at Hayden Russell Web Design’s website and they’ll want to work with him.
